Delta1 Posted November 8, 2003 Report Posted November 8, 2003 I thought I would open a thread due to newbie experience that I thought shouldn't be in the regular Tips & Tricks. Such as: DonÔÇÖt hyperspace to a enemy space station without your cloak engaged, unless you are suicidal! and DonÔÇÖt land in water! It is a space carrier, emphasis on ÔÇ£spaceÔÇØ. It is not a U.S. aircraft carrier. and DonÔÇÖt mistake your Button for the after burner like other games, especially when you are trying to climb altitude on a planet. You will crash ass first. and Read the Manual. It will save a lot heartache. This is a very in depth game that tests your managing skills, as well as your piloting skills. It is not an out-of ÔÇôbox shoot-em-up, or action game. But learning and mastering the game is satisfying and rewarding. I guess that is why it has such a loyal fan base. Newbie Forum tips, DonÔÇÖt diss the SC or the game. Like I said, there is a very loyal fan base. You will be on there bad side, and the SC as well. ( ) If you have bad opinions, state them professionally. If you want to generally bad mouth and trash talk, find another forum. Before asking questions, first read the manual. It will answer a lot of your questions. Second, use the search function of this forum. This will keep you from repeating a question that has been asked before. Third, when you do post a question, ask intelligibly and in complete sentences. This is so everybody will get a clear idea of what you are asking. I am not a know-it-all on this game. I have played it off and on for a couple of years, but did not have Internet access to access the forums and support of this game. It is a tool and a community that I find very valuable. Comparing myself to the veterans of this game, I consider myself a newbie. These are just some tips that I have learned from experience and reading other posts on these forums. Please feel free to add your input.
