gnowor Posted February 12, 2004 Report Posted February 12, 2004 When starting a new campaign in UC the Asset depicted is a Battlecruiser Mk 2 I believe instead of a Megaron which is the ship that I find myself starting with. Know you got other more important issues but was figuring this to be a quick fix. -Gnowor
Supreme Cmdr Posted February 12, 2004 Report Posted February 12, 2004 Manual section 2.0 p6 *thread moved*
gnowor Posted February 13, 2004 Author Report Posted February 13, 2004 Let me go through p6 of the manual paragraph by paragraph. Section 2.0 ┬Â1 "Only roam lets you change the settings" I realize this and I'm not asking to change my starting asset. Saying that I automatically start with a Megaron and it automatically depicts a BC Mk2 as my asset for the ACM. ┬Â2 "Several races/castes to choose from" Not for the ACM. Again, I realize this. ┬Â3 "Choose your race wisely" N/a for the ACM. ┬Â4 "Choose caste with caution" N/a for the ACM. ┬Â5 "Some castes have salaries." Yeah, I've got a salary. Read through the rest of the section and figured out why it depicts a BC Mk2 for the ACM and not a Megaron. Obviously the Gammulan Military is a little more advanced than the Terrans of GALCOM. I'm quite sure the Gammulans have digital cameras to take pictures of their current assets where as GALCOM just has to put up whatever picture it has on file. So here I leave you with an updated picture of the asset I see when I start the ACM. Picture1 Thanks, SC, as always. -Gnowor
Guest Posted February 13, 2004 Report Posted February 13, 2004 That picture is of a Mk. 3 Battlecruiser, mate....I can only guess that Derek had it as Mk. 3 BC originall and decided to change it because the Megaron fit the campaign better.
Eclipse Posted February 13, 2004 Report Posted February 13, 2004 the script overides the craft choice after you enter the mission, and... oh why am I reiterating what SC said in another post. Reread that first paragraph a little better, especially at the end.
gnowor Posted February 13, 2004 Author Report Posted February 13, 2004 Sorry, my bad. Knew it wasn't a Megaron
gnowor Posted February 13, 2004 Author Report Posted February 13, 2004 Yes. I realize the script overrides that it's a BC MK3. I'm saying that it defaults to a BC Mk3, doesn't let me change it, and gives me a Megaron. My continued point remains. I'd understand the following circumstances and your arguments against them given the following two options #1 It lets you choose a ship and overrides it (doesn't let you choose). #2 Defaults to a Megaron and doesn't let you choose. (Doesn't default to a megaron). My solution suggested would be changing it simply so it doesn't let you choose and defaults to a Megaron. Wow, so much clarification. -Gnowor
Supreme Cmdr Posted February 13, 2004 Report Posted February 13, 2004 No. I'll just change it so that the ship used in that scenario is a MK3 instead of a Megaron. Confusing solved.
gnowor Posted February 13, 2004 Author Report Posted February 13, 2004 Either that or you can just update the pic of the BC Mk3 to be the one I used. J/k. Thanks, SC.

Thanks, SC. Are you NOT understanding what I'm saying or are you just trying to annoy me and make a fool of yourself in the process? The engine defaults to a BC MK3 Battlecruiser. It is EXACTLY the same way in ROAM. For that reason, it is the default craft EVEN BEFORE YOU RUN THE ACM or ACM SCENARIO I specifically scripted the scenario to use a Megaron because I bloody well felt like it.
