Ok, so I'm a n00b. I've been lurking around here for a few days trying to get as many of my questions answered as possible to avoid getting flamed. There are a couple things, though, that I do not fully understand. I'll start with one for now, and hope to figure out some of the others in the meantime.

If I find a disabled ship, what can I do with it? I read that you can't board it and add it to the fleet, so what is the benefit? If I tow it to a space station, do I get a reward or something?

Have you noticed any flaming going on around here? If so, please point it out and the person will be promptly banned.

from my understanding, if it is an enemy ship(red) u get some cash for towing it to a station, if it is a friendly ship u get ep points or what ever for towing it to a station.

Yes, you are rewarded for towing a ship in distress or a disabled enemy ship to a station. If you haven't read the manual yet I would advise doing so to prevent being yelled at in the future. All of this information is in there.

Obviously most of the people here are smarter than that.

Yeah, I've read through the manual. But when it happened in the game, the ship was disabled from the moment it showed up on my screen. Therefore, I didn't know whether or not it would be worth the capture. Not to mention that it was traveling faster than my ship would at top speed, despite being disabled. Thought it might be worth checking out.

Disabled does not always mean immobile.

If you are planning on tractoring and capturing in your CC, I'd make sure that your life insurance is paid up.

Depending on how fast the ship, in question, was going will determine weather or not it'll become immobile or not when you disable it

However, I have noticed that when you disable a ship that is just beginning to move (IE the speed goes' from 0 then to 20 and so forth) the moment you disable the ship, the speed CONTINUE's to climb

I've clocked ship's going so fast that I swear, a patrol ship would have a hard time catching them

The last ship I clocked, was in my last game which was 4 days ago, it was going about 3000+ in speed.

However, don't forget, that just because a ship is disabled doesn't mean it's a safe capture. I've tried capturing ship's before and ended up taking a space walk before long =

Anywho, please read the manual

Once again, I have already read through the manual quite a few times.

Right. And what is it you are asking, thats not in there? So far, your questions have already been answered - but you are more than welcome to keep rephrasing the same question in as many multiple permutations as you'd like. You won't get any further answers based on that.

The manual says that you can tow and retrieve friendly ships. It says that you can tow disabled enemy ships, and ships in distress. But when I come across a ship that is floating out there, and the whole time it's been on my TRS it has been a grey mark, I don't know whether it was friendly, enemy, neutral, or space trash. And that, your highness, is not in the manual.

You can tell what kind of ship it is, if it's hostile or friendly by the designation in the VDD Video Data Display (the box on the very lower right of the screen).

Of course, hostile and/or friendly all are relative to your race/caste in the game, so we can't tell you what is what.

There is alot of documetation written where you can find out.

There are no less and six ways to identify a target. Even the color coding is documented on p23-24 of the manual.

But thanks for stopping by.
