Ditto00 Posted June 16, 2004 Report Posted June 16, 2004 This subject was deleted before because I didn't have my signature set up correctly. If I am still screwing up, please let me know. Anyway, the problem was that if my shuttle was given a tow order, sometimes it will start towing and not do any other command. Sometimes it will not deliver to a station properly. I believe I have found the problem, and a work-around for now. The shuttle will hypersyace RIGHT NEXT to the object needing towing, therefore activating the towing procedure before even coming out of hyperspace! This seems to jam the AI because it doesnt believe it is towing the ship yet. When I tell it to disengage the tow, it targets an chases after the ship again! EDIT: Or, if you gave it a return to base order before disengaging the tow, it will start to return to base after disengaging. My workaround for this problem was that if it does hyperspace on top and engages the tractor beam before it drops out of H/S, tell it to halt, disengage the tow, then give the halt order again, regardless of what it is about to do, then tell it to tow the ship again. Voila! [ 06-16-2004, 12:38 AM: Message edited by: Ditto00 ]
Supreme Cmdr Posted June 16, 2004 Report Posted June 16, 2004 Rubbish. Please stop. And I don't want to see another post - nor thread - from you for at least a week. That should give you enough time to play and learn the game without creating needless threads on my forum. And while you're at it, go play the tutorial. If you fail to follow these instructions, two things will happen. Pay attention. Your profile will be deleted. You will be temporarily banned from posting when you re-register to post again. I am DETERMINED to not allow ANY gung-ho n00b to disrupt my site with rubbish. *moved out of tech support*
Ditto00 Posted June 16, 2004 Author Report Posted June 16, 2004 Oh, sorry. Getting used to how things run here. May I ask if the Universal Combat [battlecruiser Generations] forum is public though? I read the description, and I took "For UC tech support only!" as meaning only ask for tech support questions. If it is not public, (just asking, if you say no, I will not ask again) can the permissions be set so that regular members cannot start threads? Or maybe just reword it as "Thread starting for use by the UC tech support only!" sir? Well, I'll begin my probation period now. And again, sorry sir.
Guest Fox__Trot Posted June 16, 2004 Report Posted June 16, 2004 post in the newbie area its not a bug so if you've got a question goto the newbie area now if per say you had a descrition of "Universal combat crashes every time I *step 1, 2, 3 and i've been able to reproduce it with a brand new game" then thats a bug -- for the most part its just a newbie question personally: I dont own UC so I cant help you with it but we've ALL be newbs
Supreme Cmdr Posted June 16, 2004 Report Posted June 16, 2004 *sigh* Silly n00bs Ditto00, nobody is preventing you from posting, but if you don't go over to the tech support and customer service forums and read EACH and EVERY thread in them, you're going to get into trouble pretty darn quick. We have rules around here and I FULLY expect them to be followed. NOBODY is above those rules.
