jpinard Posted February 8, 2004 Report Posted February 8, 2004 Basically at the loading menu screens, the screen flickers violently. When exiting a vehicle it does also. To my eye, it seems as if it's a refresh rate conflict... I use refresh-lock so my monitor doens't default donw to 60hz. Here's my system specs: * OS: Win XP Home SP1 * Directx 9.0B * Processor: AMD 64 3200+ * Motherboard: Asus K8V Deluxe * Bios Rev: Version 1004 * Memory: 1 Gig Kingston 3500 (433MHz) * Video Card: ATI Radeon 9800 Pro Cat 3.10 * Sound Card: SB Audigy 2 (latest non-beta drivers) * Klipsch ProMedia 5.1 Surround System * Sound settings utilizing 5.1 speakers and EAX 3 * Mitsubishi Diamond Pro 2060u - 22ÔÇØ * Pioneer DVD Drive
jpinard Posted February 8, 2004 Author Report Posted February 8, 2004 I should make it a little bit clearer it's not the first "main" screen - that's fine, but like where you load a saved game, and set the game options. It's those types of screens.
jpinard Posted February 8, 2004 Author Report Posted February 8, 2004 When I turn FSAA off, it doesn't flicker. I'd really like to play with FSAA on though, and this makes the setting up any new game immensely difficult with the flashing/flickering. Although maybe if I used the latest drivers it might be fixed (I'm using CAT 3.10's).
Grizzle Posted February 9, 2004 Report Posted February 9, 2004 I had this problem too, when I ran at 1280x1024. I knocked back to 1024x768 and the flicker is gone.
Eclipse Posted February 9, 2004 Report Posted February 9, 2004 I had that problem with the cat3.1's but after I upgraded the drivers the problem vanished.
Bandus Posted February 9, 2004 Report Posted February 9, 2004 Which leads to a possible solution. Make sure ALL drivers are updated to their latest versions.
