porter Posted June 18, 2004 Report Posted June 18, 2004 I am hoping you can help me.. I have tried looking in the forum for an answer to no avail. Maybe it being almost 3am has something to do with it. I have the most recent patch installed, and when i launch, i get the logo, then a black window opens as if to launch the game. just hangs there... any ideas ??? thanks in advance, and my pardons for my ignorance...

Now, that you have provided your system info in your sig, we can start looking... I see nothing spezial with your specs. My hardware is similar, and I hove no problems at all here with starting The Game. First, make sure that you have a proper installation. If in any doubt, uninstall the game, delete the game directory thereafter, and start from scratch! Installation procedure: Install the game. Get patch v2.00.00, copy it to the game directory, and execute it from there. Then get the latest patch (v2.00.11 at the moment), copy it to the game directory, and execute it from there. Now, start a new game (SNG). If you still get the above described problems, check first, if your downloaded patches are correct. If in any doubt, download them again. Read The FAQ (yeah, with a capital "t"! ). Try other (i.e. newer) graphics drivers. Check www.guru3d.com for ex. for new drivers. Try starting the game with the option "-n" - read The FAQ how to set it (using properties...). Good luck!
porter Posted June 19, 2004 Author Report Posted June 19, 2004 hehe, thanks the -n thing did the trick. But that menas that I am by passing a problem. I was actualy able to play . And for that I thanks you truely. But, with all due respect, how due I correct the issue neccesatating it...? Thanks in advance...
