where to leave CC?

You have to turn the autopilot off and shut off power to the engines in Logistix before you even try to leave.

That way, when ur gone, none of ur crew can take off and crash land ur brand new CC into the side of a mountain.

Hell, sometimes, I'll even launch my shuttle, land and exit it, then walk back to the CC and turn off launch control before I leave the planet. Just in case.

another alternative is to launch all of your other support craft and have them escort a friendly station for the duration of your trading, then there's nothing for intruders to escape on and you can leave launch control on, meaning no problem redocking with your CC once you're done, and usually a lot of prisoners in your brig when you get back if you leave your CC escorting the station as well

As for where to park, it depends on where I happen to be when I get the urge, usually in a deserted area (well away from any bases if there are any) of the nearest non-gaseous planet or moon.

The problem with launching all your assets around a friendly station is that you might come back and find some of your craft SOS or destroyed.

AI pilots will engage hostiles anywhere in the region if u leave them on default SAD orders.

With pilots below 50 AI, I couldn't advise this tactic, it's cheaper just to shut off launch control, walk back to ur shuttle and then u won't have to worry about losing assets when u r out-of-system.

How pray tell are you going to launch your shuttle with launch control powered down?

That's right! You can't. I always attempted to circumvent the problem by landing the CC on a planetary body. Even that gives no guarantee of asset safety. Many times I returned to find a shuttle gone and sometimes a couple of fighter craft. The shuttle would be sitting on the ground not far from the CC....unrecoverable. So, I just accept the loss and replace the asset. If your command crew has gained sufficient AI then you can leave without worry because they will kill launch control at the first sign of an intruder. Makes it a wee bit tough to RTB, but you can do it.

Dude he is talkin bout walking back to the CC after launch shutting off LC and then leaving the CC and walking your fat butt back to your SC =P i'v done that before itsj ust a pain in the butt to do. Now i just land on planet kill the engines, set all my marines to search put 2 marines in each SC i don't use and then put 1 pilot in each FC, its not full proof but it makes it alot harder for the enemy to steal anything, only lost 1 pilot that way =

Underlord,

Please remember that the denizens of this board possess above average intelligence. Most are well above average. If you question my experience with this game, take another look at my Signature. Then look in the back of your BCM manual.

Also, I'll have you know that my butt is far from fat.

hehe ROFL!!

More proof that these "vets" of this game, prolly don't ever freakin PLAY this game.

Obviously my reply was self-evident, so either you didn't read it, or u ain't never been there.

The beauty of this game is that u can play forever and never see what I've seen or did what I've done.

There r no vets in BC...only people that have played this game forever.

Shirly you're not talking to me. Remember... "Nobody can hear you scream when the outer door opens on the airlock."

Yeah ... and he's getting crazy close to that airlock...

No need to be a jerk, Vet.

Perhaps I've just been lucky, but whenever I feel like gallivanting around in a shuttle, I generally just tell my CC to go park itself at the Star Station that's nearby. Or sometimes I'll tell it to defend the SS. Never had a problem - When I get back, the CC is intact, all of the support craft are still there, and if there have been any intruders, my Marines have slaughtered them, because I never seem to have prisoners on board that I didn't already have.

I don't believe I'd leave my CC unattended on a planetary surface, though.

As long as your command crew has sufficient AI to shut down launch control when intruders beam in, and you give the bridge crew a halt command, then parking on a planet isn't a problem.

The problem with leaving the CC on a planet is that while you're gone, the aboriginal delinquents will come out of the jungle and spray-paint graffiti all over it.

Doesn't do much for your reputation.
