how to kill a storm carrier

get a fast ship. load as many missles as you can. fly up its butt shooting missles. try to disable it flying towards a planet. when it lands R.A.N.D.O.M the planet. it should be dead.

could someone test that theory. im too poor and too inexperienced to even get close to that monster .

The sunflash has the most potential for it carries the most firepower and is fast enough to catch it comming out of hyperspace. Before it emerges, blast it with full guns and it will either be dead or too damaged to cause any harm. The sunflash's turrents will take care of the fighters should they be launched.

If you are in a faster ship, jump into hyperspace, and wait on it to follow... it takes forever getting out of hyperspace so just supercharge your PTA and stay along it's flight path.

how to kill a StormCarrier?? Ah! that's the EASIEST ship to kill, it's slow, it doesn't manoeuver, just aim and shoot, whatever the circumstances of meeting

*sings to some country beat*

I ran into a StormCarrier this moooorning ...

... and I shot it down to small pieces ...

just proves the point that size aint everything

a smaller faster ship with a good captain can easily outmaneuver a behemoth, and eventually bring it to its knees. the only thing you got to worry about is fighters... but with 12 turrets, i wouldnt worry too much either

That's why I smile to myself and think "ah fresh meat" whenever someone says they are going to be a Gammulan so they can have the Stormcarrier as their asset.

Its a sitting duck for any good Commander.

Oh and never waste missiles on them you might need them latter.

But don't expect to see allot of Stormcarriers in MP and you will probably never see one without an escort / fleet with it.

A human controlled Stormcarriers will not be as easy.

Maybe I should write another script from the other side, the player commanding a lone Stormcarrier with 10 - 20 assorted carriers / cruisers and their support craft attacking it.

Notice in that script you get no help from GalcomHQ or Genesis and you can not dock

I did this deliberately the Launches and weapons are off for both Galcom and Genesis

The cloaking ones can be a pain to find but theres a trick to that.

There is an oversight in the script as some of the 64 attacking fighters will attack Galcom, should have added the ignore flag

I might add a 10 or 12 Cruisers to the script so that the carriers can have some support / escorts.

To get playmod to work with 1.08 just go over to the playmod thread the SC posted an update for playmod in it ALSO Megaron's rule they can wipe out heavy cruisers and fighters in a few heartbeats and the fighters are in my oppion the best Light/Heavys in the game IMO also when I fight a stormcarrier usualy i'll decouple my iod once I get behind the carrier and although it kills them slower they'll throw out an SOS more often
