I hope this one is better than the last one. It seems so - at least from the two wicked trailers running on Yahoo.

I simply cannot believe how Ryan Reynolds got transformed to an action figure. It boggles my mind in much the same way that Brad Pitt did in both Fight Club and more so in Troy. Not to mention Tom Jane's transformation to action hero in The Punisher. But man, wait'll you see Ryan Reynolds; you won't believe its the same guy!

It's not meant to rival the Matrix. I liked all the Blade movies, love? No, but liked. My only grips was II being prequel. Anyone I can't wait to see Ryan on the big screen, I've only seen him on Two Guys and a Girl

I've 'kinda' liked the Blade movies. I'm pretty open about not being an action, fan though - and it seems like the action gets a little out of hand in the Blade films (especially Final Fantasy Blade in the last one). Personally, I'd like more drama, betrayal, and politics. BUt maybe I'm just a sucker (natch) for Anne Rice type storytelling and World of Darkness (Vampire the Masquerade) material. I'll see it, but I'm predicting 7/10 material. Jessica Biel dosn't exactly leave me with high hopes either (she's too 'dainty' to be an action hero - but maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised. We'll see.

Ok I saw Blade trinity last night..

First of all...

The Title is completely ridicuous. Its got nothing to do with the movie at all.

Secondly they completely changed the movie style. Its got waaaaay to much cheesey humor from Reynolds. Its like an 80's action comedy for crying out loud.

The plot was Just about the Worst of all time. The Dracula character was laaaaaaaaaame. I was sitting their shaking my head at about 1/2 the Dialogue in that flick. It was that bad. Some of the actors like the main vampire chick were actually painfull to watch.

I could go on and on.. but i will give it a little break till some other people comment.

When they lost the oprigional director and writer they lost a LOT. Thats all i can say. Why they trashed del toros origional script for the last flick is beyuond me. It was origionally supposed to take place in the future after vampires had taken over the earth and Blade has some kind of Final showdown with them in order to free the human race from slavery.

oh well..

Becuase its a comic book movie i have to give it a 6 out of 10. But thats probaly a 2 point bonus because i like Marvel.

If there is one thin the Blade series excels at, it's being fantastically mediocre. Trinity just happens to up the ante by throwing in some absurd dialogue, silly gadgets, a dash of stupidity, a hint of retardation, and about ten minutes worth of blatant Apple prostitution.

While it had it's fun bits - Trinity seemed to not only cross the fine line of suspended belief, but happily did so and danced merrily on the other side. It's like some talented writer/director filmed some random footage for the next Blade movie but then ultimately got bored and turned the rest of the project over to Stephen 'Fing' Sommers.

It's pretty much a great big episode of Buffy the Vampire slayer - complete with talentless and irritating actors made only worse by a contemptible excuse for a script. It's as if Goyer started with a great idea - the vampires are going to use human politics to bring down Blade - get the law and the public on his back. But then, about 30 minutes into the movie, Stephen Sommers must have taken over. The rest of the movie is a parade of stereotypical, yet unusually irritating, character archetypes - a high body [ash?] count - and more campy one liners than Bruce Campbell could shake a stick at.

*sigh* I might have been glad to pay $2.50 for the film... I'm sure Apple would be glad to pick up the rest of the bill... but it was not worth my $7.50. If only I had something better to do while waiting for The Life Aquatic and A Very Long Engagement.

Oh yeah - and there's a vampire Pomeranian dog. Uh-huh... just one step shy of flying vampire babies.

Further itemized list of grievances:

1) Blade is chasing Dracula when Drake steals a black woman's baby during the chase. Obviously Blade saves said baby... but when we see the baby, it is as white as clean sheets drying in a summer breeze. Oops.

2) Why do all all the security guards wear heavy, restrictive body armor when they don't cary guns and only fight kung fu?

3) Blind + Computer programing/bioenginering does not work. What was the point of that?

4) Couldn't help but think that the devil guy from LEGEND could kick Dracula's ass. The makeup at the end was just terrible - no wonder they made him a Calvin Klein model. And what's with the split jaw thing? PLEASE - stop.

5) Vampire dogs with Predator-jaw... it was stupid in Blade 2, so why not use it some more? And on dogs as well as dracula. In Blade 4, expect to see vampire toaster ovens and geese.

6) Ryan Reynolds and Jessica Beil suck, and they suck hardcore. Beil's just plain aweful in this - like a kid in an action figure commercial pretending to be a hero. Really, she dosn't belong anywhere but sitcom-land where sucking dosn't matter because it's not believable anyway. Reynolds, on the other hand, may have just had a bad script. Every word out of his mouth was a punchline to joke we never heard, didn't care about, and would not have laughed at anyway.

FINAL SCORE: 5/10 (Ultimate Meh)

Honestly, this movie is an average action flick. Though if you have a keen eye, you can also spot some issues where kicks and punches don't "connect" even though they act like it. Also there's the deal with the jeep. Smashes through a police barracade (of cars) like GTA and then speeds off right? Next shot, perfecty repaird.. brand new.

Oh... enough of the d*** jokes already too...

Well, I saw this last night. I didn't go in expecting much (since I didn't like the gore-fest in the last one) so, to me, I wasn't terribly disappointed. Obviously this went for more of the popcorn crowd.

Yeah, the Dracula depiction was just - plain - awful. Laughable even.

7/10
