I really like this one. Typical survival flick. If you thought the crash landing in Pitch Black or the in LOST was good; wait'll you see this film's depiction of a crash landing.

I liked it a lot.

I was at best buy the other day and saw a DVD version of an older film called Flight of the Phoenix. Does anyone know if the theatre version is a remake?

It is. In fact, the one you saw at Best Buy was likely also a remake. This movie is like a second generation remake

I was talking to a friend about it. I described the preview I saw and she said she had seen the original on cable.

So I guess it's a remake but darn this new version looks like it would be good!

The Jimmy Stewart version is also a remake? Wow. Didn't know that ... it got big press when it came out 'cause the stunt pilot was killed while making the movie ... during a second take.

Who was in the first version?

Scratch that Marvin, the '65 film staring James Stewart was the original.
