Supreme Cmdr Posted January 24, 2005 Report Posted January 24, 2005 I didn't go in expecting anything other than a frame-by-frame reproduction, but thats not what they did. Its quite good and the pace is just right. If you liked the original, you will like this new remake which strays just a tad from the original and doesn't screw it up. 9/10
Scrivener Posted January 25, 2005 Report Posted January 25, 2005 You hand out 9's like candy at Halloween, SC Truthfully, though, it's not half bad. I only went to see it after reading an interview with John Carpenter. His only real quibble was that there were "too damn many closeups." On that account I wholeheartedly agree - but Hollywood uses too damn many closeups on everything any more. Lots of people die. That always makes me happy. Unfortunately the usual suspects get away scott free. But it's rated R, and counts for a lot. Other than that, go for the action, the death, and the wonton and gratuitous violence. It's worth your money and it's chicken soup for the sadists soul 7/10
Kevin Trotter Posted January 26, 2005 Report Posted January 26, 2005 He does give out a lot of nines doesn't he?
Supreme Cmdr Posted January 27, 2005 Author Report Posted January 27, 2005 I'm a middle aged softie then? Either that, or I'm just too easy to please. Know whats funny Scriv? When they were showing the close-ups of all the head shots, you were the first person that came to mind. I figured you'd give it a 10/10 just for those.
