Kevin Trotter Posted April 26, 2005 Report Posted April 26, 2005 No matter what they do that suit still looks goofy. Oh well I hope the movie is good.
Cruis. In Posted May 2, 2005 Report Posted May 2, 2005 he looks like a cool superman though... the original writer just wasn't thinking future movies when he gave him the red underwear on the outside...
Zane_Marlowe Posted May 2, 2005 Report Posted May 2, 2005 He needs to be bigger than that. Chris Reeve wasn't the biggest guy, but he had the right proportions; this guy looks more like a swimmer than a superhero.
Charles Lindsey Posted May 2, 2005 Report Posted May 2, 2005 To me, it looks like they went in the middle from goofy dude in Smallville and the beefy comic book Superman. I remember the old Black and White TV Superman. He was kinda beefy too in the used to have a lot of muscle but got pudgy sorta way. I thought it was our yellow sun that gave Superman his powers and not huge muscles.
Marvin Posted May 2, 2005 Report Posted May 2, 2005 The first Superman, in Action Comics, wasn't very tall ... neither was Kirk Alyn, who played him in the old movie serials. But the red pants were part of his costume because, originally, Superman wasn't much more than a guy with very tough skin and muscles of steel ... kind of a cross between a circus strong man (ergo the pants and cape) and Hercules (which is why he originally wore high-topped sandals). Personally, I'm more interested in what Lois looks like ... they never seem to get it right ... except, maybe, Terry Hatcher. Or what's-her-name on Smallville.
