Supreme Cmdr Posted May 2, 2005 Report Posted May 2, 2005 I LOVE how they stuck very - very - close to the source material, while adding in the material that DNA himself added for the movie (before his death). This movie is definitely not for everyone. For starters, MOST of the American public who are not fans of the book, will simply not get the jokes. At all. The special fx were really - really - really well done. Sure it has some problems (e.g. some jokes just didn't seem quite right) but it was really good. I plan on watching it again. 9/10
Scrivener Posted May 6, 2005 Report Posted May 6, 2005 Some of the jokes fell a little flat (particularly near the end of the movie) and there were a couple missing bits that I felt bad about, but all in all Hitchhiker's was an excellent interpretation of the books. The fact that they acomplished all this madness with just a PG rating has restored a small (read: infinitesimal) ammount of faith in the MPAA. 9/10
