Night at the movies - Layer Cake

OMG!! Once in a while, a good movie comes along and it restores your faith in movie making. Though Scriv may think different when he sees this movie.

I have been looking around to find out where this movie was playing because I am a big Daniel Craig (the man rumored to be the next Bond). Then, yesterday I was looking for listings for the opening of Cinderalla Man and what do I see? A listing for Layer Cake (out on limited release) at a theatre about thirty minutes from my house!!!!

Lets put it this way, I've never had a shower and tipped out the door so fast. Since it was on limited release, the theatre was only having three showings. So, here I was - on a holiday weekend with cops roaming the streets - doing near 90mph in a 70mph zone, in a Silver SLK350; and just dying to be stopped. By the time I got to the theatre, I was already five minutes late and I don't even remember tossing the keys to the valet guy (who I know, since I go to this theatre every so often) and darting inside.

I was just in time for the last previews.

Man, I loved this movie!! Think, Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, with a hint of Snatch; and a generous helping of Pulp Fiction. Its really - really - good. I enjoyed every minute and I plan on seeing it again before it goes on DVD (which I intend to buy).

Just. Go. See. It!!
