LostInSpace Posted September 7, 2005 Report Posted September 7, 2005 Goodbye little buddy. LOS ANGELES - Bob Denver, whose portrayal of goofy castaway Gilligan on the 1960s TV show ÔÇ£GilliganÔÇÖs Island,ÔÇØ made him an iconic figure to generations of TV viewers, has died. He was 70.
Captain McMahon Posted September 7, 2005 Report Posted September 7, 2005 My Mom recently, a couple of months or so, nursed him when he was at the hospital she works at in NC. He gave her a Gilligan hat and signed a picture of himself. According to my mom, he said the cast doesn't get paid for all the merchedise something about them signing it away near the start of the show with their contracts. EDIT: I just clicked on the link and saw where he died. That's where my mom works. I'll have to call her.
Captain McMahon Posted September 12, 2005 Report Posted September 12, 2005 Well I did talk to my mom. She said he had surgery for throat cancer and had radiation treatment. There was a complication and I think she said it was heart related. She had been treating him since Feb. So sad...

Kevin Trotter Posted September 30, 2005 Report Posted September 30, 2005 Gilligan and Maxwell Smart in the same month..I must be getting old. Don Adams star of "Get Smart" passed on this week. If you youngsters never saw it it is your lost. Get Smart was in many ways the precursor to the Police Squad and Airplane types of humor and was very clever for its time. We will miss you Agent 86...
