TV Night: Invasion

Recommended Posts

This was truly pathetic. I don't want to spoil anything for anyone who hasn't seen it, but for god's sake...can we not just once get away from such a cliche type of alien invasion?!?

Let's get some serious explosions and stuff going on, ala Spielberg's War of the Worlds.

I didn't like Threshold because I thought its premise was too pedestrian, but this show makes Threshold look like Clarke's 2001!

Fortunately, LOST did not disappoint. And we still have the Stargates + Battlestar Galactica. Long live Sci-Fi channel!

This premiere didn't do anything for me. I still prefer Threshold. We'll see how it goes and whether or not I keep it in my Tivo season pass.

is this the same invasion premesis as the book by Robin Cook? Because I liked the book and I liked the two part t.v movie as well.

but I was much younger then!

I think that Invasion unlike the other new genre series is attempting to slowly build its backstory and engage veiwers by focusing on the human relationships and how the Invasion changes and challenges those relationships. I like the premise but the execution is hit or miss. The first two eps had ther moments but the pacing of the stories are just too deliberate. I hope they dont waste a great lead in by putting everyone to sleep before we get hooked.
