Supreme Cmdr Posted November 14, 2006 Report Posted November 14, 2006 Well, its out this weekend and I'm there day one. However, the fans and anti-Christ activists are up in arms about Daniel Craig. Bond is back for London world premiere
stingray Posted November 14, 2006 Report Posted November 14, 2006 Best line of the article: 'When asked if he prefers his martini shaken or stirred, he replies, "Do I look like I give a damn?"' I can't wait to see it!!
Supreme Cmdr Posted November 20, 2006 Author Report Posted November 20, 2006 I can't even BEGIN to explain this movie. All I can say is that throw everything you knew about Bond, out the window and go see it. It is a completely different take on Bond. More humanized, brutal etc. This is not your mom's Bond, but damn he's good. Looking forward to the next one in 2008. 10/10
Cruis. In Posted November 21, 2006 Report Posted November 21, 2006 I agree, totally more real world and gritty. No one hit punches or knocket chops. Or missiles from cars. excellent, Craig is great as Bond, makes Bond his own
stingray Posted November 23, 2006 Report Posted November 23, 2006 I agree, definitely one of the best Bond movies in years. Craig is Connery on steroids minus the gadgets, but you won't miss them. Bond is back!
stingray Posted November 23, 2006 Report Posted November 23, 2006 One thing that did bother me was the opening credit theme song, that one plain sucked, what were they thinking? But then we got a great movie instead, so I guess that's the price to pay.
Scrivener Posted November 29, 2006 Report Posted November 29, 2006 I hated Goldeneye so much I never bothered to see any of the other Brosnan movies (which I hear got worse with each outing). I was always a huge fan of classic Bond, though - and I can say with a completely clear conscience that Casino Royale is the best Bond movie since Diamonds Are Forever (the last canonical Connery Bond movie). This is much more down to earth and believable than any of that other crap we've been force fed over the last decade. 10/10

Some even claim it was the best of the Brosnan Bond films, confirming what you said. I've seen them all and while they certainly didn't improve over time, I'm not sure the actor is to blame. I always thought of Brosnan as an obvious Bond, due to his similar role in the "Remington Steele" series. Anyway, Bond is back and he's blond.
