Governments around the world (and problems with)

I hope I posted this in the correct place. The General Discussion forum just didn't seem right

All right, I was reading the news today and could not help but to think

What is wrong with some of the governments around the world? Why donÔÇÖt their people rebel against them? Why donÔÇÖt they reorganize their governments in more efficient manners? Seriously, why did an insane number of people have to die in Iran in an earthquake ?

Why doesnÔÇÖt Mr King-for-Life-Brutal-Dictator say to himself ÔÇ£You know Chemical Ali, those infidels, while they lack the light of Allah/God/Jehovah/etc, do seem to understand policies and procedures, I mean, they seem to be able to build buildings that can take an earthquake with a reasonable expectation of surviving it. Their politicians seem to maintain their grip on power even with freedom of information, and they even manage to not be angrily struck down by the Almighty, even though they occasionally invade other countries. Could we learn something here?ÔÇØ

It sounds overly simplistic, but what is wrong with these people?

The Unites States has made some major mistakes. Here is a list of some of our nuclear ones.

We (the United States) also do random stupid stuff, like joyrides to classified depths in nuclear submarines with civilians at the controls and then ramming into fishing boats giving tours to students .

As an American, I know we make mistakes, but it seems to me that we learn from them. Our Navy has issued an order (as if one needed to be issued...) that this is not to happen again.

They save more money than they cost while providing a valuable service. These two agencies do a wonderful job doing their job, and that is overseeing the alphabet soup of our other government agencies, making sure that they too are doing their job. And Russia? Why did they lose yet another nuclear submarine. ? I can understand losing one (as dispassionate as that sounds, losing ships is an inevitable consequence of having a Navy) but a second? Worse still, it sank while it was being towed. I understand that we (the United States) have lost more than one submarine. While we were figuring out how they worked, we lost quite a few, unfortunately. But I do not remember the last one we lost. It seems that itÔÇÖs been quite awhile.

Are the Russians really that far behind us technologically? Are their procedures and policies really that antiquated?

Then there's the botched hosage rescue. While I doubt the United States would have handled much better without international assistance, I would imagine that our anti-terrorism (or SWAT) teams on site would be on the phone with their counterparts in countries that do have experience dealing with this type of crime, namely Britain, Israel, Greece and Peru, all countries that have years of experience of dealing with domestic terrorism. With the exception of Peru, I doubt any of the other countries would have gassed their own people then not told the doctors what they had been gassed with, as the Russians did.

While I am not a powerful leader of an oppressed society, I would hope I would think ÔÇ£Hrmmm, a country similar to mine has been invaded and conquered in about 3 weeks, now the conquerors are irked at me, maybe it's time to try a different approach?ÔÇØ

My sincere condolences go out to all those affected by the horrible tradgedy in Iran.

I welcome any feedback anyone might provide.

Thanks for moving it then, I was kinda tired when I posted it.

Anyways, I was, more than anything, curious about the International perspective.

I am familiar with the issues surrounding our space program. Sadly enough, you are very correct, they lack a mission and focus.

I guess your right, but I still don't understand why this kind of thing has to happen in this day and age

Problem is education,culture,mentality and ideals.You have to look to the arabic world as "another world".US,Europe and others are like leafs that are stick to the branch of a tree called Earth.But the arabic countries are leafs of other branch.We are similar but not the same.Until both parts agree to understand each others origins,beliefs and culture things will be as they are now.

If when Im a child Im told that US is the devil, and they want to see us all in misery,you can bet that when I grow up I will not "love" the US.Dont be wrong,I really DONT like the US,but Im lucky to live in freedom and to have all the resources I want to form my own opinion.Is for that that I can recognize the good things the US do and the bad ones.The problem is the people that is not in the same situation,people that lacks the means to form a personal opinion.They have what their society and their governement gives to them.And in the middle of this all the religion stands as a big wall.

At some point our countries did rebel against their governement,and struggled to give more power to the people.This is not the case of that countries.

And about the major mistakes,dont worry, some things will never change unless the humans stops from being humans.Take the age of the mother earth and compare it to the age of the human civilization,we are still babys learning how to live in this world.
