The VP debates and Farenheit 9/11

Recommended Posts

Well ain't this great. First I get to watch Farenheit 9/11 again (not that I need the refresher, it's just so damn entertaining) and then I get to see Dick Cheney try to reconstitute George W. Bush. Man, you have to love this political season. Thank god they're going to be seated, poor Dick's ankles would have swollen *snickers*. Can you imagine the picture that would have been painted with Cheney being old and fat and Edwards being young and vibrant? At least we'll be able to soak up some of the substance without the spectacle of that comparison.

Oh and if you haven't seen Farenheit 9/11 it's well worth renting. No matter how you slice and dice it Moore makes a compelling movie but even more he makes something that you'll ENJOY watching. Say what you like about Moore he has a wicked sense of humor.

I think the VP debate is going to be a bit more interesting than the one we had last week. I'm looking forward to it tonight.

Never saw Farenheit, but will either rent it or catch it on HBO if they will be showing it. Not that I expect to see anything I don't already know, but as you said Tak, he makes entertaining movies.

Guess no one cares about the Veep anymore.

Cheney put in an impressive performance, as I expected him too.

Edwards was more like Bush in the last campaign, a bit nervous and very repetitive.

From what my father said, since I was at work, Edwards kept saying "We have a plan"

Then, around the time of the high costs of health care. Cheney fired back with something about Edwards and him sueing people

Then edwards talked about some lady.. lol

Again, I expected this from Edwards. Just like how I expected Cheney to put on an excellent performance

Just what I would except from the VICE President, who has been in office LONGER than Edwards

Cheney has been in public service for over 30 years, and was at Haliburton for less then 5 years.

So to say that all he cares about is Haliburton is Idiotic.

Cheney chewed Edwards up tonight, and just wiped the floor with him.

Edwards is a puppy dog, and Cheney is a full grown doberman.

The Democrats should NEVER have agreed to this debate.

And as far as Michael Moores pathetic movie full of lies, I'll wait and rent This instead.

Edwards tried to hammer in the points of the previous debate and DID sound very repetitive and actually used word for word some of the phrases from the previous debate.

But towards the end he came into his own and Cheney got flustered several times and repeated the same phrases that lead us into Iraq.

If you want to know the truth about it I firmly beleive someone can vote for the use of force "if absolutely necessary" and then back pedal if things don't seem like they were presented.

I wouldn't go so far as to say Edwards failed, in fact, for his first real debate I think he did OK.

He was definitely too focused on hammering home the same old points.

But then again, so was Cheney, he just has better presence than does Edwards.

I remember that not too long ago you said that you would never see Fahrenheit 9/11.

It is best to hear both sides of any arguement/conflict before making a decision. By only listening to one side you will only get half of the story, and only half of the facts.

I doubt that I will agree with much of what the movie you posted has to say, but I may watch it anyway; just to see what it is all about.

Cheney was not impressive at all. I expected more from him. The very fact that Edwards held his own and flustered Cheney shows me he is much less Doberman than Chihuahua making a racket but not having the teeth or the balls to really bite. I was a fan of Cheney's for some time but when he talked about them cutting the spending on weapons systems when it was HE that requested many of the cuts that the Kerry agreed to it was just laughable.

The best part of the debate was when Edwards sunk his teeth into Cheney with a smile and disarmed old uncle Dicky over the gay marriage thing. Edwards also made great points with Halliburton and the distortions of the Bush campaign. Truly priceless.

I will not listen to the other side when it has been PROVEN that half if not more of that side is full of lies. Such as Farenheit 911, which was so chock full of lies, inuendo and outright false claims, that it was ridiculous, and he claimed that it was a documentary?

Not worth my time.....

The video store I work for won't even SELL this to because the Boss has personally seen it and told the corporation that she refuse's to sell it in her store.

Although the corp is considering firing her, the rest of us are backing her

I've seen it and so has every other employee, and I must say.. I stand by my belief that Michel Moore is a communist socialist freak who care's NOT for America but only for his twisted ideals

ROFLMAO... are you talking about the Bush assertion that there were WMDs in Iraq or Michael Moore? "SOME PEOPLE do have a sense of intelligence and refuse to listen to the lie's that where sprouted and the information that was falsified," were you referring to me? That was very kind of you to point out. I didn't bite off on the BS Bush was spewing or the garbage that you and Jaguar have counted as facts for the past year. Oh what a beautiful day! For all of your cries of LIAR where it concerns Moore I hope you'll step up and say that Bush is no better.

Peace

There have been 59 documented and PROVEN lies in Farenheit 911.

The film, according to those who have wasted the time to see it, is an incredible piece of propoganda, which would have made the Nazi's proud.

Slate.com

There is an article for you to peruse Takvah, I give you Slate, because it most definitely NOT a conservative source.

Michael Moore is a propagandist, and any thought to him being credible in creating another "documentary" is pretty much gone with this film.

The man is a left wing idealogue, that will say anything, lie about anything, in order to push his liberal, and yes, socialist, agenda.

The man is a Big Fat Liar.

I for one will not put money in his pocket, nor waste my time to watch this propoganda film.

59 documented LIES, and the entire movie is BASED on those lies, so the whole film main points literally fall apart.

And Michael Moore is SO proud of himself, but if it makes sure that Bush is NOT reelected, lying is OK, no matter how vile it is.

Michael Moore is a big, Fat, Stupid, Lying, White man. He may be rich from his lying piece of filth propaganda film, but it is still, a lying piece of filth, propoganda film.

WEll. sorry Takvah to disapoint you, but Bush has not lied. Saddam had the capability to create more WMD's within months of the sanctions being lifted. I will just give you the facts that have been gleaned in the last few days, because I am sure you are just jumping around like a little clown over such good news.

This war was based on the fact that Saddam could and would reinstitute his WMD programs and possibly sell or give those WMD's over to terrorists to be used against us.

THAT was the danger, those trailers do exist, those mobile labs DO exist. Saddam could have created chemical weapons in a matter of months, biologicals in less then a year, Nuclear weapons with 18 months from some reports.

The stockpiles of WMD's are not in Iraq, they were moved, but the technology to rebuild and create WMD's has been found.

Charles Duefler has stated this in his testimony, that Saddams programs were still in place, but on hold, as soon as the sanctions were lifted, he would have reconstituted those programs and created WMD's to be used against us.

Saddam was a CLEAR and PRESENT danger, to our security and the security of the Middle East.

Saddam stated that before invading Kuwait, he should have had a nuclear weapon, and if the sanctions had been lifted, he would have had one within a 18 months. He then would have completed what he started in 1990.

That's just from the media Takvah.

Saddam was a CLEAR danger to the middle east and us, he has been dealt with, he is NO longer a danger to us, and can no longer reconstitute his WMD programs, because he is in a jail cell, just as he should be, and will be hung by the neck until he is dead, dead, dead.

The whole WMD issue is dead Jaguar, give it up. It's been proven over and over by more people both within and without the administration who have more first hand knowledge of the situation than any of your sources could possibly hope to have.

At this point, the evidence against it and the lack of evidence in the first place so overwhelms any and all speculation that it's simply a moot point. Get over it and move on.

I'm much more willing to accept the war in Iraq as a strategic decision to institute stability and democracy in the middle-east than the load of crap we were fed about Saddam's plans to attack the US. No plans, no weapons have surfaced. Speculate all you want about what happened to them and where they've gone or even what he would have done if sanctions were lifted, but if you continue to ignore the mounting evidence against the whole concept then you do yourself a disservice.

If you want to continue claim it's all true but it's "super-secret" then go ahead if it makes you feel better, but you just look foolish. Crow doesn't taste very good, but it's time you took a bite and just let it go, we'll forgive you.

Grizzle, boy are you in for an october surprise...

ROFLMAO!!

You don't know about the infighting that is occurring between the CIA and the DIA, and other intelligence agencies.

The CIA is FULL of CLinton holdovers, that want nothing more then the defeat of George Bush.

The CIA has released all kinds of information, too bad that most of it is Disinformation.

The fact is that the WMD's exist, did exist and still exist. They have been found, and will be retrieved, in some way shape or form.

The DIA has yet to be heard from, but that shout from the wilderness is gonna come out pretty soon and the CIA will once again have egg on it's face.

Hopefully, that will mean a MAJOR cleanout and reorganizing for that agency.

The surprise is coming, stand by, because it will be a doozy.

And your argument about no WMD's is gonna fall apart at the seams.

Then I imagine that you'll just move the goalposts again, as liberals always do.

And that crow won't taste too good while you're eating it. But it'll be my pleasure to watch.

I like it medium rare and served hot, with a little steak sauce and some mashed potatoes on the side. Don't expect a big tip though as I'm sure I'll be waiting a long time for that meal.

Pffft... when it was convenient to believe the CIA their reports were true. Now that it is not convenient it's a crack house of Clinton holdovers. I gotta say Jaguar, you never cease to at the very least make me chuckle. Talk about moving the goal posts. I loved your latest batch of speculative innuendo... just priceless.

Oh and Grizzle, you almost make crow sound tasty!

Well, lookey what I found buried in the CIA Duefler report, on page 30, what a concept.

quote:

Since May 2004, ISG has recovered dozens of additional chemical munitions, including artillery rounds, rockets and a binary Sarin artillery projectile

(see Figure 5). In each case, the recovered munitions appear to have been part of the pre-1991 Gulf war stocks, but we can neither determine if the munitions were declared to the UN or if, as required by the UN

SCR 687, Iraq attempted to destroy them. (See Annex F.)

ÔÇó The most significant recovered munitions was

a 152mm binary Sarin artillery projectile which

insurgents had attempted to use as an improvised

explosive device.

No WMD's in Iraq? ra, ro Raggy,.....

WMD's HAVE been found, and in large numbers, there was enough just from what they have found so far to kill close to 250,000 people.

It was of course buried in the report, and it of course has gotten NO publicity whatsoever. but because it is public records that you guys have access to, here ya go.

Have fun with it, those are WMD's, ANY way you cut it, they were supposed to have been destroyed and were NOT.

And this does indeed count as a stockpile, but it is small compared to what's coming.

Oh what fun it is to watch liberals eat crow and then move the goalposts.....

Oh, and here's the link for ya too, just because I would love to have your ead it as well.

THe CIA is playing political games here, and I for one don't like it.

The Duefler report.

No Nomad, the reason that no one was injured with the improvised Artillery shell was because it was a mixed weapon.

In other words, 2 components to make the chemical weapon are put into the artillery shell, when the shell is fired, the round spins, thus mixing the 2 chemicals in flight and creating the Chem WMD.

BY exploding the shell on the road, instead of firing it out of an artillery piece, the chemicals were not mixed, thereby NOT creating the end product of the chemical WMD.

The chemicals that were splashed from the explosion were basically inert, because they never had the opportunity to mix together.

A bit of synchronicity or one of life's little mysteries...

Went to rent Farenheit 9/11 just a while ago and my bill worked out like this... Two movies, a box of Sno-Caps (yummy) and a small late charge from a previous rental...total came to $9.11... I kid you not!
