Democrat.org: Remarks by Governor Howard Dean Accepting the Chairmanship of the Democratic National Committee

quote:

We will rebuild our Party because only we are the party of reform. Republicans can stop progress, but only Democrats can start it again.

May I ask what Dean means by this? What is he basing this statement on? Stopping Progress? What progress? Social, political technological etc...? WHAT!? Actually, not matter what he is referring to it's a BS comment.

I've been wathing the stuff on c-span since I woke up. I feel like I'm watching a whiners club rather than a self respecting national party.

Re-build their party, ROFL, wonder why they need to rebuild their party, maybe because they are so good at strating the progress of destruction that they have destroyed their party before they have completly destroyed the country. Who else but the dems can be "starting the process of progressive destruction of the country, and in the process destroying their own party before finishing the job" ROFL, they can't even finish what they start. Makes me want to vomit at what he is saying, literally. On one hand I treat them like one would treat someone who is gravely ill, on the other hand, like the malicious virus that is (or has I guess) destoryed itself before the death of the host, his own words prove it, need I even say more?

--"working Americans desperate for a government that looks out for them"--

They look out for the working class? How exactly? Looking at how much more they can tax and spread around on socialism?

--"Armed Services expecting and deserving a government that honors them."--

Dems honors military? Just like Kerry honored them? Just like they honored them after the Vietnam, Korea, Afghanistan, Iraq?

--"what you look like or how you worship"--

Unless you happen to be Christian or Catholic of course.

--"We cannot win if all we are is "--

On that point he is completly right. The American people are awaking with the realization that they don't want these liberal socialists in their government, time to throw them out has come, and they are realizing it.

--"The Republicans know the America they want and they are not afraid to use any means to get there."--

Yes, they want America without socialism. They want America to be the way it was meant to be. They want people to work for the living, and keep what they deserve.

--"It was Democrats who pushed to create a Department of Homeland Security. It was Democrats who pushed to make our airlinessafer. It is Democrats who are now working to make sure we close the remaining gaps in our security. It was Democrats who demanded reform of the intelligence community."--

And I know exactly who to thank for all that, and Americans know exactly who is to blame for all the higher prices, incompetent airport security full of high school drop outs, the impossible lines, children getting patted down on family vacations by some pervert. Yeah, that's right, Americans know exactly that it was Democrats who pushed for "homeland security". There you go wolferz, now you know exactly who to blaim, as pertaining to your post in "the patriot act" threat.

Anyhow, that whole speech just reafirms what the majority of the population knows. That's exactly why we don't have a democrat in office right now. I pitty the fool...

This is the best thing that could have happened to the Republican party.

Did the thought ever occur that there are people in america who are NOT convervatives, but have spoke the same way?

I speak of Liberatians, and even Liberals (my liberals friends for example, are beginning to see the light)

Now, I must agree, DEAN is acting like a complete and total (censored), if he is put in charge of the democratic party then it'll be a blessing, because the Dem's will go down faster than they did before

Like how Kerry is an Ultra Liberal, Dean is the same way, and will only destroy what ever he touchs

This is the best thing to ever happen to America, the downfall of the democratic commitee, and the rise of the republican party, perhaps there's hope for us yet

Oh wait, there WILL be hope, of Rice become's president in 2008... if Hillary become's president.. then all will be lost

Cut it out Kal

Dean energized the party and raised a shitload of money from small contributors. He interested young voters and didnt alienate the traditional base of the party ( aside from African Americans and somewhere along the way he would have got out support too) He may be just what the party needs and lastly Jag, if he's leadiing the national party he probably wont run again...yeehawww!

It may not have been meant as one, but actually came across as one nicely to me so all is good. Because insults or outright party bashing will get you banned now days faster than you can click reply even if its subtle. I'm sure you know that though Cc.

This is true, he will not be running again, that's a good thing, and Mcauliffe really screwed the party up big time, he lost WAY TOO many elections.

Dean is NOT a liberal/socialist, he is progun, and fiscally conservative, when he was governor, he vetoed antigun legislation, and balanced the state budget. He's not that bad actually, and that could possibly work to the Democrats advantage.

Problem is that the Clintons are still in charge of the party, so Dean is going to be powerless to stop the downward turn, because the Clintons have to be the ones to "save" the party.

Watch the Democrat party continue to lean WAY left, as the kooks, socialists, etc take charge of the party, and in 2007, watch Hillary become the presidential candidate, and try to breathe new life into the party. She will come in and "save" the party

The Democrat party will continue to lose elections, and lose any prestige that it has left, and if Hillary is allowed to run for President, it will be destroyed utterly and completely, there will be NO prestige left.

Watch Hillary continue to become moderate, as she has been doing, and the other senators, Boxer, amd you know the others, continue to skew left.

Dean will not and can not save the party, the Clintons won't let him.

ANd yes, Dean is still the best thing to happen to the Republican party. He has no power, and he has been discredited in the eyes of a lot of people.

The next 4 years are going to be VERY interesting.

Democrats' Civil War: Clintons vs. Kennedy

The apparent selection of Howard Dean as chairman of the Democratic Party indicates the party does not want to learn from its ways. That's good news for Republicans.

The Dean ascension also indicates that when it comes to grassroots Democrats, it's the liberalism of Dean, Kerry and Ted Kennedy that still holds sway among party cadres.

For some time, NewsMax has reported that Hillary Clinton has long had her guns set on Dean. During the bitter primary campaign last year, we noted that a source close to Dean's mother blamed Hillary and Bill for all of her son's campaign woes.

Now it is no longer an open secret that Hillary dislikes Dean.

But it is clear that a larger civil war has long been under way in the Democratic Party that ironically has pitted Hillary and Bill as the "moderates" against Dean and his faction -- which is still controlled by the Kennedy-Kerry circle.

Kennedy's recent bellicose speech to the National Press Club spit in the face of moderation and said the party should stick to its core positions: pacifism, higher taxes, more abortion rights, more gay rights, etc.

The reasoning for this positioning is that the Kennedy faction does not believe the Democrats have lost elections because of their liberal views.

They believe that the 2004 election was lost solely on national security and the "war on terror."

An associate of Kennedy recently told NewsMax the view is simple: "Stand firm, and the Iraq war will turn into such a disaster, the Democrats will win big in 2006." The source added, "The Democrats won't have to do a thing but remain opposed to the war."

The war and growing body count will feed angst, the source said, among the right wing, who will soon demand an end to the war.

Perhaps so. But the recent relatively calm elections in Iraq suggest the insurgency may be abating rather than increasing.
