LostInSpace Posted July 21, 2005 Report Posted July 21, 2005 NEW YORK, July 20 (Reuters) - Thousands of people were evacuated from one of the largest malls in the United States on Wednesday in a bomb scare that shut the suburban New York shopping plaza for 3-1/2 hours, police said. Sheesh, I go there quite a bit. It wasn't mentioned in this article but on the news last night a movie theatre concession stand was looted in the evacuation. Hoax or trial run. Hmmmm?
John Prezioso Posted July 21, 2005 Report Posted July 21, 2005 I was just there 2 weeks ago with my parents while visiting them on vacation! Jeez, you can't go ANYWHERE anymore!
LostInSpace Posted July 21, 2005 Author Report Posted July 21, 2005 I found out from my sister today, she lives about a few miles from the mall that this is like the third time this has happened so far during the summer. What did you think of the mall? That place is massive very easy to pull something like that off. Are you originally from NY?
John Prezioso Posted July 22, 2005 Report Posted July 22, 2005 Yep. Bronx, New York. I grew up on Benchley place in Co-op City, exit 11 on 95/ Cross Bronx Expressway. The mall is staggeringly HUGE. I for one don't like going to places THAT spread out, but my mom LOVES it. They actually live in Riverdale, NJ, but they both work in NYC. How 'bout them Yanks?
