LostInSpace Posted August 6, 2005 Report Posted August 6, 2005 Looses Ohio Congressional seat bid. Turns out he's just another two faced politician. He may have gone to Iraq but, from what I could find out, he was just a public affairs officer, one of those typically dubbed a REMF by combat troops. quote: Hackett, 43, a lawyer and former Milford city councilman, faces long odds. He's running in a largely rural and conservative district that hasn't elected a Democrat in nearly 40 years. What do these concepts stand for? That means I don't need Washington to tell me how to live my personal live, or how to pray to my God. And I don't need Washington to dictate to my wife the decisions that she makes with her doctor, any more than I need Washington to tell me which guns I can keep in my gun safe. Umm, this is a Democrat? Sounds more like a Republican to me. Well this is all what he's telling his largely rural and conservative district. This speech he made (after his loss) had me chuckling: quote: "Democracy won. We won. The voters won in the Second District won because we gave them a choice. Whenever Americans have a choice, democracy is a benefactor," Hackett said, "and we gave that to them." A choice? What choice? He never once, from what I could gather, never called himself a democrat in any of his ad commercials. And this one had me laughing too: quote: "This election is a shockwave of voter discontent that will be felt all across the country," said Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee Chairman Rahm Emanuel in a press release. "Every Republican in Congress should consider himself put on notice." Of course he had a lot of votes, he was running his campaign with conservative ideology. Anyway this was his campaign localy. But on the regional front, he was completely different. A true democrat: Condemning the Iraq war and calling Bush an SOB. Will these democrats stop at nothing to win.
John Prezioso Posted August 6, 2005 Report Posted August 6, 2005 quote:Of course he had a lot of votes, he was running his campaign with conservative ideology. Historically this has proven true time and time again. Extreme leftists are unelectable. Even ole' slick Willy would run towards the middle for election time.
