I was able to get my copy of the fairtax book, as well as my old copy of 'The Terrible Truth about Liberals' signed by Neal Boortz, along with Georgia Congressman John Lender. http://www.fairtax.org/ I support HR 25 and have for awhile. The tax system is what gives the politicians their power, and they are NOT going to vote away their greatest tool for that power, no matter how much we scream and yell and have a fit. There is only ONE way that we will ever get a fair tax, and that is quite impossible in this day and age, WAY too many sheeple.

Even Democrats are starting to take note on immigration (albeit timidly). I've been a pessimist lately, but I was inspired last night. Even though I disagree with Neal Boortz on many issues, he had my respect last night completely.

Oh, you must mean the Democrat governors of New Mexico and Arizona. Give it 2 months, the minutemen will leave the border, because the "states" are doing something, and then the states won't do a fricking thing. This immigration thing is a putup job. And the fairtax? Forget about it, it's NEVER gonna happen....

Now it has 53, and even the President of the United States has spoken about it. Politicians don't want to do anything big because they are scared of losing votes. The more popular support behind the idea, the more support it will gain in Congress. These people know that the Fairtax would be good for government and individuals.

It ain't gonna happen $iLk, the tax system is what gives them their power, it allows the Democrats their Class warfare rhetoric, and everything else in between. It allows them Pork Barrel projects that will get them reelected, and allows them to punish those that don't support their views. It also gives them an incedible tax beauracracy, called the IRS, that will and can do ANYTHING it wants to do. Fairtax is a great dream, but it will NEVER happen, Way too many people depend on the mess we have now, for their power and to keep the sheeple in line.
Guest $iLk Posted August 29, 2005 Report Posted August 29, 2005 Something is going to have to change eventually. Our current tax structure will not support the government indefinitely. Besides, the book was just released. I wouldn't be surprised if that 53 became 200 within the next two years.

Apparently the House is going to push the measure for a vote sometime late this year or early next year. Many house Republicans are looking at making it a campaign issue.
