President Bush has borrowed more than all 42 prior presidents combined...

It's not stunning, a trillion dollars today is like a Billion 100 years ago, so for inflation, it's NOT all that stunning.

It still pisses me off, but it is not stunning...

I find the article unsatisfactory and I'm surprised no one mentioned this fact. Where is a chart to explain the spending. Just offering up the total monetary figures just doesn't cut it. We know the Iraq war speding is a given but give us the rest of the break down so we know where to make the cuts.

Such as:

Disaster relief to states that are caught with their pants down by just relying on the federal government to bail them out.

Welfare

Foreign aid

To name just a few.

We live in completely different times that all the other presidents.

Terrorist attacks on our soil

Multiple natural disasters

More and more immigrants coming over to this country and going on welfare immediately.

The article above falls miserably short of covering any of these item.

If the world is currently unstable one would think that borrowing money from foreign countries would be a bad idea.

I don't understand why some Americans (not you) complain about this and then bash the Canadian emmigration model.

Hmm, I'm curious about that now. I don't think I've read anything at all about that. Any info on this would be greatly appreciated.

Precisely the reason I said that I have a hard time believing this.

It's real easy for someone already pre-disposed to hating Bush to take everything negative about him at face value.

I don't hate him; I find his over-spending alarming, true, but this kind of claim needs a little bit more evidence prior to being accecpted as fact. Much like many others negative claims about him.

Exactly.

Funny thing about government spending. As soon as one mentions spending cuts, all the lobbyists come out of the woodwork "You're not cutting mine".
