That about covers it, politicians are the problem, and the problem is that politicians are the only ones that run for office, and if a person that is not a politician runs for and wins office, they become a typical politician.

The whole system is broken, the constitution is ignored, and they spend our money like it's never ending, and it's theirs.

The only way to fix it, is to let it collapse and rebuild from scratch..........

Whether a 3rd party has a chance in hell isn't how I view things really. I believe that you should use your vote to support someone you truly believe in. Whether or not they 'win' isn't as important as whether or not you use your 'voice' responsibly.

The letter beside the name does not matter as much as the man/woman.

Doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result is one definition of insanity. Voting for the G.O.P. over and over expecting them to follow through on their principles when they consistently disappoint is insane. Ditto for the DNC.

I'd rather vote for who I believe in and have the Democrats muster enough votes to push the GOP back into the minority (a position they seem more comfortable with) than allow the GoP to continue gaining seats and not following through on promises.

Big government isn't fine just because we control it.

I have to disagree with you.

Voting third party is voting Democrat.

The only way to make a third party viable is to get rid of one of the 2 main parties.

The Democrats are the weakest, and will be the easiest to destroy.

Destroy the Democrat party, by voting Republican all the time, and then when the Democrat party collapes, put a third party in to the right of the Republicans and push Republicans even further to the left then they already are.

Until the Democrat party collapses, I will hold my nose and vote Republican.

Voting for someone you don't believe in in the hope that they'll defeat someone else you don't believe in accomplishes nothing.

Yes and no. Historically, we have always been a two-party system. It wasn't necessarily defined as such from its creation, but third parties, for whatever reason, simply don't work in our system. I did a research paper in college on political third parties in American history and what struck me as most remarkable is how our system simply rejects third parties. That's not to say it HAS to be Democrats and Republicans, as there have been others, but throughout U.S. history, 3rd parties have always failed miserably. Michael Medved, a syndicated radio talk show host, said it best when he likened our system to a boxing match. Boxing was meant as a one-on-one event. Throw in a third contender, and all you have is chaos.
