We've been doing that well before Bush as it is a federal crime to threaten the president.

Besides, what in the heck does Bush have to do with this? I'm fairly certain he probably didn't even know about out as the President of the USA has bigger things to concern himself with.

Considering the increasing problems with school violence done by minors, it's not surprizing that the authorities have to do something to at least set an example.

It's one thing to disagree with your government, another to make death threats.

The amount of school violance went UP drastically since the school year began. This alone there's been about seven school shooting in less than one month, about ten bomb threats, and numerious other things.

All said and done, the main reasons for these problem's isn't that the police are in need of new people, nope, it's that the schools aren't doing there job in teaching the student right from wrong.

It's right to talk about things on the net.

It's wrong to death threat the president.

But the school system doesn't give a rats ass about rights and wrongs, they just want there money so they can spend it on more boats, cars and other useless things.

This is but an example of how out of control our school systme is. But also an example of how parents need to get more involved in there children's lives.

Sorry for taking this off topic, but the main culbrit is the school system. Aramike is right, SC, The fed's have been doing this sort of thing for YEARS now, long BEFORE the internet was even established.

It wasn't until the internet was established did the Fed's have to get involved in THAT little crop of problems as well. People seem to think that if they death threat someone on the net, it can't be traced back to them. They are wrong, everything has an ID code in it, you IP ADDRESS is one example. Your MAC ADDRESS is another example.

And don't forget, the Fed's do have the technology to locate your house just from the little information you provided.

Anyway. Federal law prohibits this type of action on the net, further more, the act of threatening someone like the president deserves far more punishment, than threatening your friend or his family.

You threatened the president you little twit. They are going to do what they can to put the fear of god into you.

And it was the governors that vetoed the bills that would make it so that the parents would have to be there when law enforcement questions them, not Bush.

I am afraid that it has been this way for many, many years.

When I was in High School, and that was a LONG time ago, the police could come and question whomever they wished, whenever they wished, and did not have to notify the parents.

Another reason I homeschool.

I bet you if someone threatened HER life, and that person was questioned but not arrested, etc, she would think that it didn't go far enough.

Little selfish twit (to use Jag's word) shows why people her age aren't allowed to vote. The sad irony is, though, that her parents are.
