Bought a cheapie. Works ok. Fixed arperture and flash. Self timer. No viewfinder or anything. Just an LCD display showing how many pics you got. 20 - 36 image capability depending.

The software is a joke. Just a few wizards with no real capabilities but good enough for now while I play with it.

Just for kicks I took a pic of myself.

maybe it will work.

The goat was only for last Halloween when I went to work dressed as a pirate. No time now.

Need to correct one statement though. It does have a viewfinder. Just not a viewscreen like the nicer ones I have seen at the stores.

Wasn't but $60

I bought one of those cheapie ones too, cost me like 25 from Yahoo or something, lasted about 2 weeks. Yours sounds a bit better!! lol

And no, I didn't break it, it just gave up the ghost for no apparent reason, you get what you pay for I guess!!

I prefer a medium priced 35mm camera. Mine is Minolta HTSI plus. Very nice. Nothing beats the quality of 35mm, nothing.

Well, ok. Actually maybe the very expensive, very top of the line digital camera might equal or maybe (note maybe) be better than a good 35mm camera in some respects, but I just like film too much.

I bought a digital camera for the wife as a present about a year ago set me back about IR£350 its a nice Kodak one though.

Thing that burnt me though is I could have bought the same camera from Gateway with my pc for £50 less.

SC, you have a lot of stuff unopened sitting in boxes. I remember earlier you had some joysticks. Why don't I come over and open all those things for you?

Don't know whether it's way too sensitive, I'm a cruddy picture taker, or the camera is super cheap. I never did this bad with a film camera. But, I knew it was cheap and it's good enough to get the general idea.

I picked up the logitech quick cam traveler the other day.

Its a combination web cam and digital camera.

So far I like it! Its a bit sensitive to motion when you are taking pictures, but other than that it works great.

Kinda cool using Net Meeting too. Nothing like seeing the person on the other end of the keyboard.
