Hey, nothing wrong with that. We all use credit, now we can get our credit reports free come September 1st (as it should be, after all it's your information), and we can buy services which help you straighten out your credit history if someone steals your identity (you can liken it to buying theft insurance for your property). I heard they actually handle things pretty well if you have that insurance and run into any kind of problem. As far as them making a profit off of us (charging for services they provide after all), it goes both ways, we ask for the credit lines they provide and products they sell. Without them you would have to ask your friends or parents for a loan on that new car, house or whatever else you want to buy.
