Best backup procedure

Which backup procedure(s) do you guys use and why. I backup to DVD-RW right now but it is tedious and cumbersome. Time to get smart about it.

I back up to both DVD-RW and an external NAS. Its the only way to be sure.

Thanks for the input guys. The reason I'm asking is that my hard drive took a dump on me last week. Fortunately all of my important data is still there and I have been able to get to it.

When I get a spare grand in my pocket then I will consider the nas route. It seems you are a little higher up the food chain than I am SC . For now, I will use DVD-RW and a second hd.
