Supreme Cmdr Posted June 17, 2004 Report Posted June 17, 2004 Yeah, this is how it starts. And of course, the inevitable opinion ed.
street228 Posted June 17, 2004 Report Posted June 17, 2004 really! I remember when icq started out. it was'nt bad...but then....next thing I knew. I would fire up my puter, and the phone would start ringing. Seemed everyone I knew locally, could monitor when I was home, or when I left the house.(before DSL) It still didnt really register with me, until I had a break-in, and lost several VALUBLES(my rolex, and VERY expensive ring, among them). Today, I shy away from ANYTHING which would allow others to monitor my activities. I like the security of real privacy. I dont think people understand, that 80% of all crimes, and violence, can be traced to people who are CLOSE to the victim. [ 06-17-2004, 06:08 PM: Message edited by: street ]

Which is why invisible became widely popular.
Freyar Posted June 17, 2004 Report Posted June 17, 2004 I generally keep my MSN and stuff on "Online" status.... and just have people wait for me if I'm not here.
Kalshion Posted June 18, 2004 Report Posted June 18, 2004 Big Brother is creeping in ever so slowly, and slowy, and slowly it'll take over.. THIS is the beginning of the end of privacy folks =(
Guest Posted June 18, 2004 Report Posted June 18, 2004 I always run my ICQ in invisible mode, and am VERY picky about how is on my visible list. Only 2 people here can see me on ICQ when I am on. The SC, and Lord David, that's it that's all. And don't ask, because I will say no....LOL
Kalshion Posted June 18, 2004 Report Posted June 18, 2004 Yea I know you never did authorize my request for you add me to you're list = My ICQ list is full, but only 1 person can see me ... I have invis mode on all the time, sorry but it's to risky having it off
Guest Fox__Trot Posted June 18, 2004 Report Posted June 18, 2004 if im not online it means my computer has lost power
