Whoa!! Who saw this coming?!?

Maybe GameStop, since they don't do this, will stop the practice of returning open games, trading in games and such tomfoolery that just promotes piracy in EB stores.

You can read about it here.

hmmm the EB where i go here wont take back open PC software unless you exchange it for the exact same title (ie its damaged) no refunds they dont take trade ins on PC software either (not anymore anyways). the only exchange/trade in thing they do is with console games. GS does the same thing. thats here though, but you would think that would be a company policy thing?

the one thing i didnt like that i saw with GS (and they probably do this at EB as well) is the money for your console bit... thats just asking crakheads to go out and steal game consoles and bring it in for some quick cash... probably more than theyd get at a pawn shop. they need to stop that, and just do a store credit thing... same with the games, store credit no cash.

The GS here started requiring a valid DL for all trade ins and console sales. Even though I am real tight with all the Sales people thay still card me everytime and last month they called me at home asked what game I traded and how the trade worked out for me.

I like GS better anyway as the local one lets me hang out a talk about games and treat me the same when I spend a couple hundred or trade a game and buy a discount title. I also love getting Game Informer every month as a perk. Last month they had a trade in special..extra ten bucks for non sports titles. I traded in Mercernaries, Project Snowblind and Call of Duty and got like 90 bucks in trade. I then bought used copies of Doom3, NCAA 2k5, ESPN Baseball 2k5, Fight Night 2005 and Star Trek Shattered Universe, and still have store credit for a few bucks. You get a 10% discount on used games and that saves me a few bucks. EB nevr did it for me. I went in and asked a clerk there if Drake/99 dragons was a good game and he said it was pretty good and " Has its following" Oh yea who would that be Stephen hawkings and Stevie Wonder? No thanks EB. Im sure my experience isnt universal but I learned you vote with your feet and mine are headed to GS.

Well this stinks. It's hard enough to find a store with PC games in it and the local ones have been shrinking their shelf space for it or altogether eliminating it.

Where's that leave PC games?
