weegee_101 Posted June 14, 2005 Report Posted June 14, 2005 I caught this on /. just a couple minutes ago. We play dumb with store clerks to see who helps us shop smart. Honestly, it sounds about right. Every time I've been in an EB Games for the last year its always been some 18 year old prick who thinks he can hack his way through the CIA just because he knows what Uplink is. Or they're a self-rightous idjit who revels in the fact that they've beaten every game in the store... and they make sure you know it. The honest truth is that for the most part, customer service is seriously lacking in video game stores. I was honestly a bit surprised about GameStop, since I've had problems there as well when trying to figure out if a game that is supposed to be out was delayed. One gripe though about this article, I do think they were a little unfair with the Toys-R-Us guys with the polygons question. I wouldn't expect a Toy-Department Store to train employees on what every nitpicky thing in the store is. The guy they talked too probably worked around the whole store.
