computer game controllers

hey has anyone here ever used a controller playing a game on there computer like as with a console?

ANyone still using one? is it possible to setup and work them with games like FIFA? can anyone give some suggestions on some good ones if so..

I've used an Axis game pad I got from Walmart for $15-$20 that was similar to an x-box controller. I used with a super nintendo emulator, which took some trial-and-error to get it set up the way I wanted it, but afterwards it worked really well.
