Supreme Cmdr Posted April 2, 2008 Report Posted April 2, 2008 http://blog.wired.com/gadgets/2008/04/daniel_k-who-fi.html My guess is that very soon, on board audio will negate the need for add-in audio cards. Until then, stay away from Creative products and pick up either an Auzentech or Asus product. Bastards.
Magnus Posted April 2, 2008 Report Posted April 2, 2008 People actually still buy soundcards? I haven't bought a sound card since '99. Only ever needed them for DOS based games (*Glares at Redguard*). With Windows I've found that for gaming and general usage onboard soundcards are fine. I will however note that I do not do a lot of audio editing where it obviously is still needed. Interesting article though, looks like Creative did some pretty underhanded tactics which is sad. However, it is Vista.
