Blades Posted May 18, 2000 Report Posted May 18, 2000 Everyone knows that Orion and the Insurgents are just itching to pound into eachother come BCM. Why do we all know this? Well, it's because several of the active members from both fleets regually dump on eachother on this board, and everyone reads this board. We've all participated in this sort of berating at one point or another. Some light heartedly, some less than light heartedly (But usually in RP tags). Thing is, all of us (This is an assumption, of course) enjoy doing it cos we're prepping ourselves for whats to come at the end of the summer. It's not really a realistic grudge (Me n Rattler, for instance, speak nightly on ICQ about pretty much everything BC and non BC related) but it is interesting to watch and comment on. You should see some of the stuff Aramike regually posts to my board. Theres a semi rp theme goin on right now where he's posing as a Reporter throwing every dirtly little trick he can muster up to slur the good name of my fleet. It's great! Magic stuff. You should probably all go and see. (Plug not intended. )Anyway, to the main point. As I said in the opening statement, Orion and the Insurgents (In RP only, remember) have a hate hate relationship thing goin on. What I think would be interesting to investigate, is the relationships between the other Galcom fleets. Not just talking about between, say, Wraith and the Insurgents, but between Earthcom and another GalCom fleet.How does one rate/regard the other? Are there personalities from whatever fleet who are well known for one reason or another to another fleet?This doesnt only span RP, but the general day to day interaction that we all see here on the forum.Ok, how about another. Who would you class as a real *character* on the forum, and why? There's a certain relationship that he and I have developed over at his site, and that is from two adversaries' stand-point. Interesting is the friendly rivalry which occurs between, say, the US Air Force and Navy. It would be fun if something as such developed here between Orion and Prime.Taking a little RP pride in your fleet and pitting that against another isn't all that bad an idea! ------------------ Cmdr. Competion is a good thing i admit, it brings faster crafs, better inventions, a lot, but don't try to set us apart. I wanted to explore the various rivalries between the player fleets, not create new ones. Please take a look at the opening couple of posts before jumpin on the bandwagon and start the sluring. You wanna slur, start a new thread or come to my board. Otherwise, lets just keep with the program.

Blades Posted May 21, 2000 Author Report Posted May 21, 2000 Hugo, if you check the Official Fleet Info on this site, you will note that ORION is the HEAVY STRIKE fleet in GalCom. As such, nobody in their right mind (Not even the Insurgents) would describe my people as Cleaning Women. I've worked very hard to put this Fleet together with the left overs from the previous administration, and I think I've done a very good job thanks to the assistance of a few key commanders that frequent this board. Without people like them, I wouldnt be confident in ORIONS success when BC:M gets here. I am very confident about it.The point of this thread wasnt to start bitching at each others fleets. I wanted to explore the previous 'Good humored' rivalries that existed, not start new ones.But hey, even though we are all on the same side, Im pretty sure that a 'Wargames' option could be put into place on any of the Fleet servers. We can see who's a 'Cleaning Lady' and who's gonna get a boot up there ass.
