Guest Posted April 20, 2000 Report Posted April 20, 2000 The only gaming magazine I found worth reading is going away. UghThey mention that one of the reasons is due to the diminishing PC gameing market. Is there truth to that? If so what does everyone feel the factors are? Better console systems people would rather spend their money on? The cancelation of good projects (Like Amen: The Awekening and B-5 Into the Fire)? Too much overhead on game development to get a positive financial reutrn? Market saturation of current genre's? I can just hear Wierd Al singing 'I need another First Person Shooter like I need a hole in my head. (RTS Remix)'. Just curious. So far year 2000 hasn't been the gaming orgy I was expecting. I hear more about what game is delayed or canceled (or gaming mag) these day then I read about anything good being released.
SpacePhish Posted April 20, 2000 Report Posted April 20, 2000 Sucks dosen't it? SUck real bad. Well, no matter what I will still be around, banging on my computer, tweeking with ping98, kicking- sorry ass programs to the curb, it's a-way-of-life. Been doing it since 91. I will always play computer games, no matter what kind of console system they come up with (even tho I might buy them).
Supreme Cmdr Posted April 20, 2000 Report Posted April 20, 2000 What issue did they say is the final? I just got thru the May issue and saw no such notice. Did I miss something?OK, I just saw the news posted. June will be their last issue. Bummer.[This message has been edited by Supreme Cmdr (edited 04-20-2000).]
