Just out of curiosity, I know that some of you veteran commanders are official bc3k testers and the like. Tell me how you guys became testers and what exactly do you do when you are actually testing.

Well, since I'm the first to reply here, I'll give it a shot!

1. I think one becomes a tester by staying active here on the forum. Be helpfull wherever you can. Learn the game, inside and out. That way it's much easier to provide accurate help when someone comes here with those questions. If you start showing that you are capable, The SC will most certainly notice this and you! When/if he decides that you know enough and have helped enough, He will invite you. It won't happen before then.

2. What we do as testers is just what you would expect. We PLAY the game! I mean we really PLAY the game. We intentionally look for ways to break it! If there is an "annomoly" that is out there, it's up to us to find it. Should we miss one (it's happened before), and it gets reported up here, we do our level best to duplicate it. That's why it's imperative that whoever reports these annomolies give us the most detailed "How You did it" report as possible.

We then report to the SC and tell him if/how we duplicated your report. He then goes to work on fixing that "annomoly." BTW, the "Annomoly" fixing period for BC3K is over, so don't start submitting reports, OK? smile.gif

Hope that answers your questions well enough.

I have some buddies that might have a better way of answering so I'll let them have a turn if they want. wink.gif

Hehe, very interesting rattler. Those are very positive and informative insights for a newbie such as myself if I might add. I guess some people were right when they said, "it's not just a game, it's a way of life." (No not Elite) hehe. Out of all the people who help out in the bc3k series about questions, no doubt you rattler and all the vets are the most friendly and awesome roleplaying storytellers in the forums. The insurgents will live forever!!

Yep. What Rattler Said.

There's nothing better than trying to beam your marines into space... it happened by accident, you don't know how it happened, but you glue your butt to the chair until you find out how to do it.

(BTW, the above example was for an older version...and I couldn't reproduce it *grrrrr*.. IM NOT WORTHY!!! *sobs into the backstage wink.gif )
