I remember using IBM's FORTRAN compiler - I think it was version G - that [inadvertently?] allowed you to reassign values to constants, so for example, you could change the value of "2" to "3", and have lines of code elsewhere in the program INSISTING that 2+2 was equal to 6!

sigh. Those were the good old days, weren't they?

They removed that capability in version H.
