Guest Damasceus Klark Posted June 10, 2000 Report Posted June 10, 2000 Really, really, really bored!!!Augh!!! I'm banned from playing video-games till the cows come home! My television privliges are nil! And overall, I'm pretty much not allowed to do anything with anything that involves electricity (heck, right now I'm not even supposed to be here!)!Is there anything fun left in the world that only involves one person and doesn't involve pesonal things that one only does in private? I've read every interesting book out there! Eating will just last so long!Does anyone know of the Big Fun? The Ultimate State of Enjoyment? If so, could ja tell me about it?When I get privlages back, I'm going to start a book, but that's in a little while.Well, any help would be very handy out here! ANY help at all.And I'm not going to start with the conspiracy theory angle angain!Bye.------------------ Damasceus "Shiva" Klark Pilot, Wraith Fighter Command Wraith Fleet HQ "Ye gods man, are you insane?!?" =Wraith Fleet=
Parias Posted June 10, 2000 Report Posted June 10, 2000 Well Dama, you could always go check out the fiction series I started at powerpub.net (Bestia in Mutatio).. of course, it's a tad difficult to do that without being on the computer..How exactly did you end up in this situation in the first place? I generally pass out if I'm away from the comp for more than 2 hours.. sleep non-withstanding ------------------ Cmdr. thanatos Posted June 10, 2000 Report Posted June 10, 2000 GadZooks Shiva, you sound like my 14 year old son! What are you gen-xyzers going to do when the Chinese detonate an EMP nuclear bomb over our heads and fuse all our non-shielded electronics?Life is so rich, boredom is simply wasting this precious time; too soon you're out of school, married, and watching your hair gray out.Nobody has read all the good books that are in print. Find an alternative author to your favorite and try one of his books - read one of your favorite books again. I've read all of Tom Clancy's novels three times and still enjoyed the third go around. Have you read Robert Jordan's "Wheel of Time" series? How about shoot baskets, you know, like in basketball? Swimming, biking, running, walking in the woods, talking with your PARENTS (yes, I went too far, sorry). The virtual world is alot of fun, but don't forget the REAL WORLD.Your virtual internet-paternal commander,Doc "Thanatos" Hoover
Guest Damasceus Klark Posted June 10, 2000 Report Posted June 10, 2000 Well, one thing about that post is that I wrote it a 1:33 am, which is to say my brain wasn't functoning to its full potential.Another thing is that I've started a somewhat "philisophical" quest to find the biggest fun of all, Ultimate Fun.At first I was searching for eternal fun, fun that would last forever and ever, but soon I realized that anything that lasts forever will get boring sooner or later, and that when eternal fun (the anti-boredom) get boring the universe hits a paradox and implodes on itself just because I was bored at one point in my life.So I switched to: The Big Ultimate Really Great Super Fantastic Fun. During the summer I'll try and make a list of all of the really fun things to do out there. According to a guy I know, Disneyland was the most fun he had ever had. He figures that if Disneyland was really great, that Disneyworld (a whole world of Disney) must be the biggest fun out there. But I have been lead to believe that The Big Ultimate Really Great Super Fantastic Fun is individualized for each person out there, such as one person might think that picking their nose is the best thing out there, while another may think that dressing up like an alien and go stand hitchicking by the entrance to Area 51 is the most fun they'll ever have.I did write a little too soon with the "already read all of the good books out there" bit, but I was also in the state of mind where when you watch Monty Python's Holy Grail intermission scene you seem to think that it's funnier that a cat on catnip stuck in a tree (which is pretty funny (especially when he tries to kill you for attempting to save him)).And I do know that there are a lot of great books out there that I need to read (like Heinlein's Number of the Beast, and (I hate to admit it) I still haven't read Dune yet).Well, I'm off to go find out if there's anything left to do on here (and don't ask how I got to be on the computer).------------------ Damasceus "Shiva" Klark Pilot, Wraith Fighter Command Wraith Fleet HQ "Ye gods man, are you insane?!?" =Wraith Fleet=
