So Im sittin here, waiting for either a lottery win or an NDA to pop through my mail box and wonderin just what else us guys here do when we not swooning over The Game.

So Im asking ... what other interests do you guys have? Im talking out in the real world, stuff you get up to on the internet etc. Im sure this has been done before, but not for a good while and with the vast number of newbies we gonna be gettin over the next few weeks, I think it would be nice for us old timers to get to know eachother a wee bit better.

For my part, Im gonna let you in on my biggest secret. smile.gif" Im what you would call a net tart, as indicated by my other website at . I spend my evenings either pouring over all things BC or chattin up the lovelies on IRC. Those that have done it/do it know what Im talkin about. Those that dont, look at my site and judge for yourselves. smile.gif

So tell me gang .... what is it you do?

I write fiction, code HTML, fiddle with my joystick, and make occasional trips to the fridge.. oh, and I've mastered the fine art of sitting through the entire day smile.gif Aside from being on the computer, that's about all I do...

Hrmm.. well I'm a big time movie buff. I studdied film making on the side in college and I keep up on the who's who in the bizz. David Fincher (Alien 3, SE7EN, The Game, Fight Club) is currently my favorite director, he seems a tad bit more intelligent then your average film maker and he takes more risks then you would normaly see in a mainstreem movie.

In a few weeks I'll be taking dive classes thanks to the persistance of one of my friends. Frankly I don't believe anyone going into the Pacific ocean is capable of having kids afterwords but she insists it's "not THAT cold...".

I've had a computer ever since I was in Jr. High (Atari 400) and have gamed on them for just as long.

I also snow board, hike, took 5 years of fencing, whip butt at Total Annihilation and Team Fortress Classic and am slowly moving over to playing Counter Strike. I hit alot of concerts, just saw the Cure and Nine Inch Nails last week, both where awesome (NIN is one of my all time favorite 'bands'). I keep a pretty wide and diverse group of friends and I love getting a group together and partying over night on the beach here smile.gif

Uhm.. I am heading into a relationship with an attractive red-head and some of my best friends are female, but marriage, hell no! Maybe when I'm like 35 or something but I have enough married friends, I've seen it... thanks. =)

Why do you ask??

Well, Blades, in my free time I play games, surf the net, play games, surf the net, etc! smile.gif Helps me to unwind from my real-life job. I probably spend entirely too much of my free time on the computer (according to my wife) but hey, it keeps me sane! smile.gif

Natural born artist here honey! I also write a bit...I'm currently working on a sci-fi novel called the City of Starlight, but Foss trys to show me up with his "Star of Excalabur" novel...Grr...

I'm dating Foss, yes, that's how I got here in the first place, I just graduated from High School but I didn't get accepted into the art College I wanted to get into (But I'm on the waiting list, yea.)

I'm hoping to get involved in Comic books and the industry, look for me in Image, marvel, DC, Top Cow, Crusaders, Archie, or ADVision...(I'll tell you which as soon as I know!)

I don't really do all that much else: Read, write, talk, play games, call my computer names, and work with 3d stuff. that about it, and only get to do that if I'm not busy with friends.

Right now, my primary interest is getting a job. But when I was employed I enjoy restoring my Jeep CJ5. Its a 1974 CJ with < 45K original miles, but she's pretty beat. I've rebuilt the top of the 304 cc V8, (plenty of power, here!) and the entire front end differential, my self. From Chilton manuals! Mechanicly, she's sound, but the body is rusted so badly I can't a sticker! Its not worth trying to patch either. (I can literaly poke my finger thru several areas of body rust) I also have a '71 CJ5 with the Buick 225 V6. Cute little power plant, but sadly WAY under compression, I'm sure a new set of heads would work wonders. Sigh. It all takes money.

Anyone else into Jeeps?

Well my free time that I do not game with is comprised of fishing, on-line gaming, PC tinkering. I find driving to be a big stress reliever for me, sometimes I just drive to nowhere and come home. I also go to the movies when I am in the mood for one. I am always on the look out for my next PC upgrade. There ya have it.

Married, so my free time is filled with honey-do lists.

Otherwise, I like astronomy (I have a 10" Meade LX200 Schmidt-Cassegrain and a 4" Meade Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope). My wife and I also like Broadway musicals. She performs in our local community theater and I volunteer to usher and stuff.

I also like to play board games. You know, the cardboard maps and counters from before computers. What? There was a time before computers? wink.gif

I'm shocked to realise that I have far too many interests and too little time to make a seriously successful dent in the development of the real skill in any of them! These include PC and Console gaming (for 16 yrs - Where DID that time go?), playing and watching heaps of sport (mainly Rugby, as most Kiwis do), reading, watching good sci-fi or action movies,a bit of astronmy, a bit of writing, and a HELL of a lot of net surfing! Would like to eventually write a decent sci-fi novel and learn how to program my own PC rugby game!

BTW, I also do a bit of regular social boozing with mates. I work 40 hrs/wk at an electronics retail shop. No girlfriend ATM. Not enough time left over for that , unfortunately!(sigh)

I feel the need to explain myself further. *Ahem* Apart from my net time (Which takes up far more of my spare time than I'd like to admit) I tend to go out, drink too much, vomit in spectacular colors and dance around like a deranged/rabid animal. That is, when I can drag my friends out to do that.

When thats not goin on, I enjoy reading, writing and an assortment of PC games. You all know my love for all things Wing Commander, right? K, say no more. I also used to do a lot of RP in my younger days, but dont get round to doin it very much now, which is a shame - sorta.

Im currently between women, (No, not in that way ... although now I think about it ... ) that is im not seeing anyone seriously. A lot of my time is taken up with lookin for madam right, or madam right now until she gets pissed off with my sorry ass and leaves me[/i}. That actually happens more than I'd like to admit. But hey, my life is at least interesting. smile.gif

Theres more, such as work. My current job Im not too happy with simply because it pays poorly and doesnt take advantage of all my hard earned knowledge n experience. Good news is, Im pretty much in with two Cambridge based Internet Companys (PSInet and UUnet - You may have heard of these guys) so It looks like Im gonna be able to buy that 1GIG Athalon pretty soon after all and give you all a jolly good toasting end of summer.

Anyway, thats it for me, for now.
