You would really realize you are getting into a contract. I would at least. I have bought a few things online. Ma and Pa Kettle may not though. It's a bit scary thinking what someone could get into if they didn't know what they were doing. What I don't think it means that if I say something here with my unique, recognizable, and pretty much "provable", sig file that I would he held accountable for stray comments. Like "I won't comment on the snarks again" or something benign like that. Any other thoughts or arguments? In one news report I saw and electronic pad that you signed that digitalize your sig and sends it to what ever site you are buying from. If this is how its done it would actually match your sig just as if it were on paper, and could work out pretty good for all those charge backs that e-shops get. Because they can't prove it was the actual card holder that place the order when they deny it was them placing the order. I may be wrong but I think this is a good thing. ------------------ Cmdr. Instead of FedExing documents for signature across the country and/or the world, the docs could be zipped, e-signed, and transaction complete.With the advent of this legalization along w/ handwritting recognition capabilities of software these days, maybe, just maybe the paperless office may become reality. Electronic transfers are trackable and open those on both ends to many legal and not so legal problems because ANYTHING electronic can be copied and routed somewhere else. C. There is NO encryption scheme in the world that can't and hasn't been cracked...This e-signature crap is just more legilation by politicians on the hill that just want to look good to their consituents. The only problem is that neither the politicians signing the laws; nor the people clamoring for more protection know ANYTHING about techonology or how it works. They are the same people that are scared to death when someone says the words "virus", "hacker", "crash", etc. The same people that are scared into purchasing e-commerce crap from IBM because they run a commercial about tech guys waking up CEO's at 4 a.m. to report the "SERVER" has crashed and they've lost a lot of business...Basically folks, it's more paranoia legislating that, given a little more time, will soon be ammending your constitutional freedoms.So, enjoy your rights now.
