Guest Archaic Posted August 28, 2000 Report Posted August 28, 2000 Hello everyone, I've been away for many moons the artist formerly known as Pyros (long story lost isp access and emails changed)Really looking forward to BCM. Now I have some questions, I placed them in the general discussions purely because they cover a wide set of subjects.Multiplay questions: 1)Will it be possible to spawn BCM or do I need to buy two copies one for me and one for my wife? (Don't mind just don't want to order one copy from the USA then find for multiplay we need two would prefer to buy two from the start).2)Will it need a dedicated server? (we wish to play in the same universe co-op but don't have a fast internet connection (8 months till cable modems 6 months till dsl )will we be able to just link our two pc's and play together?3)If the above is possible are the below spec machines ok for BCM (not single but multi most games need highers spec for multiplay) AMDk6-2450mhz 160mb ram voodoo 3 3000 awe64. (If not i'll just be upgrading to a 600 duron)4)Does anyone have knowledge of delivery charges to the uk, I know the game will be $50 aprox but I have heard delivery to the uk can be upto $70 per item The below is a worse case scenario of costs for buying two copies over internet for UK delivery. 2 copies of BCM $100 UK delivery $140 hehe price of two Duron chips Thankyou to anyone answering this thread.
Supreme Cmdr Posted August 28, 2000 Report Posted August 28, 2000 Pyros, I have deleted this Archaic user record. Send email to [email protected] and they'll send you the info for your Pyros user record.Questions: You need 2 copies of the game because each one will be serialized and no 2 serial numbers will be allowed on mp servers. No dedicated server required. You can setup a game on an internal LAN. But one the machine acting as client and server, had better be fast. Read the product info page No info available at the moment but wherever you got those estimates from, is ludicrous.
Guest Posted August 28, 2000 Report Posted August 28, 2000 5) Your wife got a sister? You lucky stiff, most people out there cant get their ladies to touch the dang machine
Pyros Posted August 29, 2000 Report Posted August 29, 2000 Hail all Thankyou for a quick response Supreme Cmdr, nice to be back to my old self.Number 4) Unfortunatly from experience was going to order System Shock 2 from the USA (UK version wasn't coming out for two months and wanted to co-op play with my wife) Damn people wanted to charge us $69.99 delivery, on the same note i've also found UK customs sometimes puts a charge on things *grumble* But it has been about a year since I ordered anything from the USA. Nice idea to code each copy of BCM, hate to see piracy and this seems a good way to restrict burner/piracy.Tac yes she has a sister, unfortunatly her sis is only interested in: 1)Parties 2)Gossip 3)Money 4)Shopping refer to 3) BTW wonderful to be back to a forum with standards, I've seen some really bad ones lately Ps Tac my wife also plays UT as a rather nasty sniper(she has head shots down to an art form) only other space sim she likes is XBTF and X-tension (me too) all the others are kinda linear. But can't wait to double team some unfriendlies in BCM.Question Has anyone ever done any romantic, erotic or normal fiction based on the BC universe, (I run a none tacky scifi/paranormal/fantasy/anime adult fiction archive my wife runs the non-Adult fiction site)
Guest Posted August 30, 2000 Report Posted August 30, 2000 Well heck, she'll have LOADS of fun as a Marine in BCM. Jus' tell her to check out the Wraith Marine Core... let da headhunting begin!Tac <---- Lord of the Hall Of Giants (UT)... and resident headpopper muahahahaa.
