Soback Posted March 9, 2001 Report Posted March 9, 2001 The theme song for the Battlecruiser Millennium is very good, gets the heart pumping, sounds deep and mysterious with a pinch of excitement. I have a little suggestion though, during the last minute, when there is some change in the rhythm going, maybe there should be a little more play with the change in notes in the guitar, make it a little more turbulent so to say, right where the two different rhythms change, every 7 seconds or so.
Steve Schacher Posted March 9, 2001 Report Posted March 9, 2001 The soundtrack is what it is.Would you tell Beethoven that his 9th Symphony sounds really good, but where he goes da-da-da-DUMMMMMM da-da-da-DUMMMMMMMMM it would sound a little better if it were da-da-bading-bading-DUMMMMMMMM da-da-dadobeedobee-DUMMMMMMM?Well, of course not. Beethoven's dead. And the tracks are recorded. Now, what you're really getting at is the mood that the music sets while playing the game. Reserve judgement until you hear the rest of the soundtrack.BTW, you must be a guitar player since that's what you focused on. I don't play any instrument myself... I was just curious, so I asked.
Kush Posted March 9, 2001 Report Posted March 9, 2001 You know, you could always write your own music, translate it into mp3 format and play it in the game.In BCM you'll be able to play your own Mp3's. Not that the theme song isn't enough, it's great, but you have freedom.
Soback Posted March 9, 2001 Author Report Posted March 9, 2001 Don't get me wrong, that music is great, I was just thinking to get a little more play between the notes towards the end.
Supreme Cmdr Posted March 10, 2001 Report Posted March 10, 2001 Soback, did you understand Steve's post? Good. Now shutup.
Kush Posted March 10, 2001 Report Posted March 10, 2001 I think Soback's got his eyes on doing some sound design for GCO.
Soback Posted March 11, 2001 Author Report Posted March 11, 2001 Sound designing, no, all I can do is give a couple of advices on how I think to improve something, but we are all different, and have different opinions, what I might like doesn't mean that everyone will. In short, it's Dereks game and if he likes the sound, then thats it. Lets finish this thread.[This message has been edited by Soback (edited 03-10-2001).]
Charles Lindsey Posted March 11, 2001 Report Posted March 11, 2001 Soback, the point of Steve's post is that the tracks are finished. There won't be any re-recording. I was a nut for these things when they were being released sporadically in GNN. Heck, I even whimpered for new ones if it had been too long. [grin] But they are finished and there is no use suggesting anything. That's what Derek's post meant. Don't be upset; we all get dinged from time to time. ------------------ Vice Admiral Chavik ICV Phoenix, Sygan Starstation (Sygan) Fleet Leader - Balor FleetOfficial BC3K Tester
Guest Posted March 11, 2001 Report Posted March 11, 2001 The soundtrack to me is killer, I open Windows Media player and just play the MP3's while I'm on the computer. I LOVE IT!!! ------------------ CMDR Jaguar GCV Armegeddon This is not just a game, It's a life unto itself!! ICQ# 24007233
Soback Posted March 11, 2001 Author Report Posted March 11, 2001 Thanks Charles Lindsey, u made it all clear. See, I didn't know that that was the final soundtrack. By the way Jaguar, I do the same thing. That music is so captivating, just want to listen to it again and again.
