Decisions, decisions

I'm looking to see which vessel I want. Thus, referring to the BCM Craft Specs doc:

Since I have a choice from Cruisers, I was wondering what everyone would recommend.

• It needs to be reasonably fast, since I am a police officer; this includes hyperjump

• It needs to have a few turrets

• Long ranged main guns are a bonus, but rate of fire is generally unnecessary

• It should have a moderately good complement of marines (i.e. a heavy cruiser is less preferable to a super-cruiser)

I'm feeling inclined to go for a Questar (especially considering its OC complement and turret capacity), but a Questar is extremely weak as far as shields and armour is concerned. And being a police officer, I'm sure I'd get at least a few lasers headed my way.

Not to mention that Questars have a nice engine on the back of 'em but their hyperdrive leaves something to be desired.

Anyhoo, any ideas?

I have to say I have a Biased opinion, I think the Nightstar carrier is the best, not based on stats or anything like that(although if I remember right she has 8 PTA turrets) but because it is a cool looking ship.

OK I admit it, I'm shallow, but I can't wait to fly the galaxy in one of those babies.

Take a Warmonger. 4 turrets, big guns(5main) and fast engine(1.8).

A Spacestar has 1 less maingun, but a MUCH stronger shield (3750), and is still fast.

The Spacestar looks like a fairly good choice, except its hyperdrive worries me a bit.

A Warmonger is more of a clich├® to me, so I was looking for something a bit different.

It'd probably be a toss-up between a Spacestar and a Questar, I guess.

I like the look of the Solnar most, myself, but I don't know how well I'd fare in one. It's wayyyyy weaker than the Questar, too.

When BCM comes out, I'll have to check out all four of those in action! Before I make any firm decision, that is.

(I could test the Warmonger now, of course, but it wouldn't be the same environment as Gold would offer.)
