Red Faction

I heard that Red Faction is supposed to a be a really "kewl" game (quoting someone who I'd rather not quote. =)

My friends recommend it, too.

But, I'd rather trust the word of a bunch of total strangers than of my friends, so...

Has anyone here tried it? What are your thoughts?

I might buy it at some point, if I need to, or if the man upstairs forces me to. (My landlord can be persuasive at times. )

(In case you didn't catch it, that last paragraph was a joke. But you probably caught it. )

I've played it. Looks interesting some neat little effects, but overall it seems to be one of those games you beat once tne forget about for the next three years.

On a side note I think it's suposed to be Descent 4, but something got fumbled with the copyrights so no more PTMC.

Well when it comes out on the PC if there's nothing severely eclipsing it in the FPS realm I'll probably pick it up (I have no idea when the PC release date is).

And I don't think it was ever meant to be Descent 4, it was done by the Freespace team (Volition) not the Descent team. I remember reading about it's development since it's beginning and it hasn't deviated from what it was always meant to be in terms of a game.

I must admit, it was the Geo-Mod technology in Red Faction that got my attention, about time too.

But I am going to wait for Medal of Honor: Allied Assault – that looks REALLY impressive…
