And will Win ME cause me any problems?
Guest $iLk Posted August 7, 2001 Report Posted August 7, 2001 Ummm you suck... No really dude I am sure that the computer you have bought will be more than sufficient to run THE GAME.1.8ghz? Damn can I have it? hehe...Somehow I think this isn't so much a question as an opportunity to brag about your new rig huh?
MidnightGreen Posted August 7, 2001 Author Report Posted August 7, 2001 Damn you caught me bragging just a little but not about the price tag it is so friggin expensive. The real question I had was if Win ME is even worth a shit and will the old games I have be supported with it and then XP?

DOS games, however, might. Not necessarily, though, as it can go either way.
PJFarland Posted August 7, 2001 Report Posted August 7, 2001 About the best thing to do with ME and backwards compatability is to set your system up with two OS's. Get yourself a second HD (you could partition the one you have but Windoze can get upset with not having the boot sector sometimes). And pop in Win98 in the second drive. Try all your old (and new) stuff out on ME and if it doesn't run, install it on the 98 drive. Dual booting can be a pain sometimes, but it'll solve any compatability problems you might have.
MidnightGreen Posted August 7, 2001 Author Report Posted August 7, 2001 hey thanx for the tip I think i will do that
Cmdr Nova Posted August 7, 2001 Report Posted August 7, 2001 Seriously, you should at least dual boot to another older Windows OS, because when XP comes out, you won't have your good old DOS anymore, and most (all?) DOS games won't work.As long as you've got ME right now, I see no trouble in your boat, until you go XP. I run ME myself. ---- I've repartitioned my drive, already, and have 98 and ME, all ready for me for my upgrade to XP, later this year.
