I want a computer job

What are some good computer jobs that require little training (6mo - 1yr) and pay very well (20k - 40k)?

I know that's cheap but what are my options if not that?

Also I am interested in 3d animation and game programming, but I want some excellent resources, not expensive books that teach you just enough to buy the next book in the series, but some excellent sources that give a good overview of actual parts of game programs, how they fit together, and such.

Also a really good VB6 resource, and a really really good C++ resource.

Things that make it simple (I've got all the SAMS teach yourself books)

Also some really good PHOTOSHOP resources, and just really good 3d art and modelling resources.

Can anyone point me out some places to look?

3d Ani is fun but can get time consuming with complex effects high poly models and long animations if you don't have a render farm.

System Administration and network admin are two jobs that doesn't require that much of training. Sit down with say..Linux and WinNT for a couple of months, and try out every networking option there is, create a server, try out gatewaying,create sendmail configs, put up firewalls, create accounts that has different settings in access and the like...well, everything you think a company do. (Now WinNT and Win2K is just horrible, but I guess we all got to wait until it dies and Unix/Linux takes over.. muahahaa! )

anyway, all that isn't really hard to grasp, and its a nice job, new experiences every week.

and "C++ Primer" (i think its name is that in english.. got the swedish one. : ) is a good C++ book that teaches a lot and is a handy resource.

I have a Cisqo (spelling?) Networking class this semester, as well as a visual basic class, I am just wondering on my quickest way into a field making a lot of money. Any other suggestions feel free to post;

Hehe, I will, but I am looking for basically a fast entry position that is open without a full college education and that I can get into that has real potential for growth. No doubt Networking is my best bet around these parts, but I could also do something along the lines of building computers and all...

Just wanting info on all the other stuff too for kicks, cause I am interested in learning a little bit of everything..

Get your A+ cert and go to work in a PC sweat shop for 6 months at minimum wage. For Pc work that should be between $7-$10 per hour. Then Get your Network+ cert and apply as an entry level technician at places like Schools, and large companies that have PC, Network, and Admin teams. After a year or two of that you will be ready to jump on as a full Lan Technician I or II. Those jobs pay between 13$-$20 an hour depending on location. From there you will really need to decide what area you want. Administration in a Windows or UNIX enviorment can pay quite a bit. The other option is to go the Hardware Network route. This is my personal field. Designing and implementing WANs/LANS. If you want to make the really big bucks veer towards Bourder Router and Security Management. I am currently applying for a position at General Dynamics as a Bourder Router Security Administrator. The scale starts at 60K and goes to 120K for Sr. Engineers.

Then there is the programmer route. The absolutle biggest paycheck you can get in this field is to become a Data Base programmer (or Os programmer, or own your own Co). One of my family friends lives in New Jersey and makes 140k per year working on a custom DB engine for his company.

The short of it is, there is NO quick road to cash in this field. You have to earn your way up the ladder with years of experience. Any employer worth his/her salt would be crazy to hire a newbie for anything over about 25k per year. at least 3 years of ecperience is required to get into the 40k range.
