Soback Posted August 31, 2001 Report Posted August 31, 2001 I got a problem. I need to uninstall DX8 and install DX7. When I just try to reinstall dx7 it tell me that a newer version exists on my computer (dx8) so how do I get rid of dx8 so that I can reinstall dx7?
Soback Posted August 31, 2001 Author Report Posted August 31, 2001 Read the "What's good" in this forum to find out. No longer need the answer to this question though.
LordDavid Posted August 31, 2001 Report Posted August 31, 2001 I *believe* the only way to do it is to delete the Operating System, and re-install it. Then install DX 7 and not DX 8.
Põdi Posted August 31, 2001 Report Posted August 31, 2001 No, there is a utility to do just that without having to bugger about with the OS. I had to do it a while ago after I got a bad version of DX7 from a CD-ROM. Unfortunately I can't for the life of me remember where I got it or what it's called. I don't have it anymore after my old harddrive died on me a few months ago.
Supreme Cmdr Posted September 3, 2001 Report Posted September 3, 2001 LOL -----> TACWhere the hell did you get that? Thats hilarious.Anyway, there are LOTS of utilities for uninstalling DX.Check our downloads page for links to Guru3D, TweakFiles etc.
Soback Posted September 3, 2001 Author Report Posted September 3, 2001 Thanks to all, but as I have posted in the other thread the game works great and with the dx8 with the startopia.exe cracked file. It was that damn safedisk that was preventing me from playing with the ORIGINAL cd. Eddited for spelling.[ 09-03-2001: Message edited by: Soback ]
