Guest $iLk Posted September 19, 2001 Report Posted September 19, 2001 It seems more and more lately that the damn small camera popup is on EVERY site I visit almost, (not here)Geocities webpages are now used to advertise this crappy camera. (pictures of women - sex sells advertising)I'm just wondering why it is so popular or if seeing it is due to a program I have installed or what?It gets annoying, especially now that they use free sites for advertising OTHER than the company you made it on.

If you notice the page doesn't pop up over your viewing page, but pops underneath them.I too hate anything that Pops period, either up, or under. I never did mind banner ads as I rarely looked at them. Ofcourse when one did catch my eye that I was even remotely interested in, it would just disappear and never reappear again. Go figure.

Then I don't think that their Win2k support is reallygood either.I hate that damn popup, Only perverts are gonna need a camera like that. And no doubt the TRUE picture is fuzzy as hell. That particular popup(under) is really annoying as it is every damn where I go. I usually ALT+F4 every popup but that damn one makes it impossible without going through the trouble of clicking. I imagine that the code to do it causes the actual page to refresh instantly keeping it on top.True it is less annoying than the pop ups that invade your PC whenever you go to some sites, but I still don't want seperate webpages opening. BUY WEBSPACE on someone's page, banners. Popups are annoying and have plagued me back when they were first used... (Okay I was younger and I know Porn sites were the first to use them, and it wasn't that hard to convince my consience that the link said I was over 18)...I really loved to joke about the security back then, like in the South park movie how the kids say "you must be over 21 to ... okay *click "Well, like it said in Maximum PC, most of the INTERNET Security and Advertisements were pioneered by the Internet Porn Companies. If it wasn't for them we wouldn't have such good credit card security and such great popups...Damn them....

Game_Ender Posted September 19, 2001 Report Posted September 19, 2001 If the cammera you are talking about is the X-10, i have to agree the adds are very annoying.On the cammera itself, it is a rather good cammera for the price you pay. If you are into R/C hobbies or rocketry it can be used to make a very simple remote cammera system. I am into model/mid power rocketry and you can use that cammera to make some spectacular shots from a rocket.
