I could understand perhaps if I was in a foreign country waving an American flag around yelling about how we don't run, perhaps someone might get offended.

And if someone over there was offended, they would just have to say " Excuse me sir, this is Kablookistan, your flag offends me." And I would (out of respect for their country) put my flag up. I would also not get offended by all the Kablookistanian flags flying everywhere. After all, what in the hell did I expect to see by going there?

So if this guy is offended, he can tell his co-workers, or he can leave the firestation and never come back. And he can leave this country too because that's the message he will see everywhere as this thing goes on.

Miami Caves to Flag-hating Firemen

Miami bureaucrats are scrambling to appease three firemen who removed an "offensive" American flag from their truck.

After a six-week "investigation," Chief Dave Paulison is contradicting the fire department's earlier report that William "D.C." Clark, Terry Williams and James Moore refused to ride a truck displaying Old Glory.

Paulison now claims the three didn't refuse to work if the flag wasn't removed - but he admits they did take it down and did complain it was a symbol of "oppression" to blacks. He now says they removed it because it blocked their view - though other firemen didn't seem to have the same problem.

In addition to their six weeks of paid leave, Clark and Moore must undergo counseling, the chief said. The report cited Clark with that favorite offense of liberals, "being insensitive."

"This was a witch hunt. They're still not used to black men standing up and having an opinion of their own," fumed Clark, who has cried to the media that the U.S. has never apologized for slavery.

Paulison said, "I have no doubt that our findings will give a clear understanding of the actions taken by our department and that we will now be able to put this incident behind us."

Nope, it's not going away, despite all the spinning. Several firefighters have said they would refuse to work with the three men or back them up in a fire after they return to work this weekend, the Miami Herald reported today.

No kidding. I agree 100%. The idea that WE are responsible for something our ANCESTORS may or may not have done is LUDICROUS. And besides, you'd think that the Civil War was a bloody apology. In any case, the US isn't the same as it was then, so no apology is necessary.

Seriously, the next time people make that foolish claim, we should research their ancestry. If *ANY* member of their ancestors committed ANY crime, the person asking for the apology should be apologized to, then PROSECUTED.

First off, this slavery apologies and reparations are BS.

first off :

1. Those who would recieve reparations have not spent 1 (one) day ever in bondage.

2. Those who would be paying reparations have not owned any slaves EVER!

Half of the blacks in America came here AFTER slavery along with many of the whites. This means that you would be taking tax money from people who never owned slaves, and who's ancestors never owned slaves and giving it to people who never were in chains, and many of which don't have any traceable ancestor who was in chains.

It's BS.

It's racist to even suggest it happen, just because you are born a white male you are automatically obligated to stand aside and let the "disadvantaged" have first pick at any jobs because obviously you have advantages they don't because you are white and you are obviously a racist homophobe if you disagree.

I see the logic! I think I do... no wait it's EMOTION!

What about the christians being enslaved, murdered, raped, and tortured in Africa today? Why not make them repay themselves? Hmmm?

Guess it doesn't matter because it isn't whites doing the enslaving.
